Good news para sa mga gustong humabol sa ating Mass Spay / Neuter "Kapon: Event 🐶🐱

PPBCC just confirmed today that they can already accept "walk-in". No reservation is needed!

There will be a little price adjustment for those who will walk in (PPBCC didn't give the exact amount yet). However, Pet-owners can walk in from 10 am onwards.

The exact pricing for a walk-in Spay/Neuter will be posted as soon as they give the details. Thank you for understanding.

Did you know that it's CatsofSPV's First Month today?!

What did we achieve? I created this Page to represent all cats here, to request "Mass Neuter Activity". We’re able to collect willing Pet Owners into our list, researched low Neuter/Spray Pricing, and reached out to PPBCC to provide us with a schedule.

We also made a reservation to the venue and reached out to our Barangay Captain “Kap Ito” for further help in the actual event; tables, chairs, galloons of water, and venue confirmation.

So, this is it! The August 15 date has been granted with our clubhouse as the venue.

As a concerned citizen, I understand how difficult it is to coordinate, it involves a lot of time and effort. No wonder it is the first time that we have had an activity like this in this Villa/Subdivision.

To all officials inside and outside SPV; I apologize if I wasn’t able to follow any protocol that you might have, but I hope you see and understand that my intention is good, besides we have the same goal to help the community, right? This is the only thing I can think of. I don’t have the luxury of time to talk to any of you personally and I’m sorry for that, but it doesn’t mean that I’m bypassing or whatsoever, I genuinely apologize.

So sorry for the drama ☹Let’s end this on a positive note!

Will neutering fix aggression in cats?
✍️ If your male cat is aggressive towards other cats, neutering is an extremely effective way to stop it. Inter-cat aggression is usually territorial or sexual. These types of aggression are primarily triggered by the hormone called testosterone, which is produced in te**es.

🐾Lower risk of an unwanted pregnancy if you have an un-neutered female in the home.

We have been sharing a lot of pictures of missing cats lately. Unfortunately a lot of these cats are not yet neutered and unbeknown to their owners this could be a rea*on for them staying away longer as they can follow the scent of females in sea*on.

NEW ANTI-RABIES VACCINATION SCHEDULE (PARA SA MGA WALK-IN): Tuwing araw ng HUWEBES at BIYERNES (8AM to 5PM)

Sa pagsailalim ng lalawigan ng Cavite sa COVID-19 Alert Level 3, simula sa January 13, 2022 ay magdaragdag ng isa pang araw ang Tanza Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) para sa schedule ng walk-in anti-rabies vaccination upang mas maparami ang mabakunahang hayop sa kabila ng mga naantalang mass vaccination schedule sa mga barangay.

Mayroon lamang ilang paalala ang MAO sa para sa mga pupunta sa aming tanggapan.

Para sa mga pet owners:
•Magsuot ng facemask
•Walang sintomas ng COVID-19
•Magdala ng COVID vaccination card/certificate
•Iwasang magsama ng mga bata

Para sa mga dadalhing alagang a*o at pusa:
•Dapat ay nasa edad 3 months pataas
•Malusog o walang sakit
•Hindi nakakagat o nakagat ng ibang hayop sa loob ng 2 linggo
•Mas mainam na napaliguan muna dahil 3-5 days itong hindi maaaring paliguan)

1. What are the requirements to know that my companion animal is fit to undergo surgery?
⁣
Your cat/dog should be 100% healthy and have up to date vaccination. If your cat/dog is 2 years old below we require them to have their CBC taken to ensure that they are fit to undergo surgery. If they are 3 years old above or had a past illness we require CBC and blood chemistry. CBC and Blood Chemistry results are only valid for 2 to 3 days.

Blood tests can be done at our neuter clinic on the day of your companion animal’s spay/neuter appointment. In the event that their blood work returns with abnormalities, their spay/neuter surgery will be canceled and our veterinarian will prescribe treatment. Upon completion of their treatment, you can reschedule their spay/neuter appointment.

Blood tests can also be done at a different clinic.
⁣
Blood tests can be skipped; you will be asked to fill out the Against Medical Advice form.

4. Things to bring on your appointment date
⁣
-Accomplished and printed Waiver Form
-A proper and secure cage and leash
-Two (2) bed pads for cats and dogs (available at our clinic at 30 Php each)
-Elizabeth Collar or E-collar (e-collars for cats are available at our clinic for 200 Php)
-Proof of payment (to be presented upon registration)
-It would be best to have your companion animal’s blood test done a day or 2 before your spay/neuter appointment since results are only valid for 2 to 3 days.

5. Cages and Carriers
⁣
Please use proper cages and carriers when transporting your companion animal/s from your home to our clinic. Travel itself is stressful for them so it’s best to make their carriers as comfortable as possible. Please avoid using boxes and large containers with few holes.

6. What are the benefits of spay and neuter?

Spaying helps prevent uterine infections and breast tumors, which are malignant or cancerous in about 50% of dogs and 90% of cats. Spaying your cat/dog before her first heat offers the best protection from these diseases. Neutering your male companion prevents testicular cancer and some prostate problems.

7. Why do I need to fast my cat/dog for 6 to 8 hours?
⁣
Companion animals must be fasted prior to surgery to prevent them from vomiting. Also, the effect of the anesthesia will be decreased when a patient has a full stomach.

8. At what age can I have my companion animal neutered?
⁣
Cats can be neutered at the age of 4 months. Dogs can be neutered at the age of 6 months. For male companions, they can be castrated when both of the balls have fully descended but if they reach 6 months and both of their balls have not yet fully descended it’s more likely to be inguinal or abdominal.

9. How can I prepare my cat/dog for their kapon appointment?
⁣
Two weeks before your companion animal’s spay/neuter appointment, it would be best to monitor their health and behavior. Things to watch out for are eye and nose discharge, sneezing, coughing, stool, and urination. If your companion animal has any prior illness or is recovering from a recent illness it would be best to have their blood test done before their surgery.

10. What if my companion animal just gave birth?
⁣
For newly birthed mothers it is best to wait 1 to 2 months or until she stops nursing her kittens/puppies. The birthing process left her uterus fragile.

11. Can I put my cats/dogs in the same cage after kapon?
⁣
It would be best to separate them to prevent them from licking each other’s wounds that might cause their stitches to come off and re-open.
⁣
⁣
12. How long is my cat/dog going to be groggy after the surgery?
⁣
Your cat/dog may remain unsteady or groggy for about 2 to 6 hours after administering the general anesthesia. Cage rest is recommended to prevent them from walking and falling over and also from running and jumping that can cause their wounds to re-open.

⁣
13. How can I take care of my cat/dog after surgery?
⁣
It is recommended to place an Elizabeth Collar around their neck to prevent them from licking and biting their wounds which might also cause their wounds to re-open.
⁣
If you did not get the injectable antibiotic for your cat you will have to give him oral medication twice a day for 7 days after the surgery. Medication will be prescribed upon pick up along with the aftercare and guidelines.

Wound care is simple, you don’t have to put anything on their wound to help it heal faster.
⁣
⁣
14. Vomiting, lethargy, loss of appetite, and trouble urinating and defecating
⁣
These are normal for 1 to 2 days after the surgery. If all these continue for more than two days it would be best to bring them to our clinic right away.
⁣
Urine retention is normal and is usually a sign of pain along with constipation.
⁣
⁣
15. What if my companion animal’s wound starts to swell?
⁣
If swelling and any kind of discharge is visible it would be best to bring your companion animal back to our clinic for observation and assessment.
