Life cycle of the HEARTWORM begins when a 🦟 mosquito bites and feeds on the blood of an infected dog that is carrying tiny immature heartworm (microfilaria) in its blood.

Symtoms includes a persistent dry cough which seen in dogs with advanced heartworm disease, exercise intolerance, fatigue after moderate activity, decreased appetite.

Your furbaby can prevent this disease through heartworm prevention.

If these symptoms persist on your pets, consult your Veterinarians.

🚨 Abandoned Kittens 🐱🐱🐱

Last August 7, a box with a note was left in front of our clinic containing 3 kittens inside.
Our staff attended to their basic needs and they are in our clinic's care until adopted.(The kittens are about two months old and was tested positive for nematodes and undergoing medications) .

We take this opportunity to remind everyone that this act is punishable by law .

~REPUBLIC ACT NO. 10631

Section 7.

If any person being the owner or having charge or control of any animal shall without reasonable cause or excuse abandon it, whether permanently or not, without providing for the care of that animal, each act shall constitute maltreatment.

A case of Canine TVT (Transmissible Venereal Tumor).

What is TVT ❓️

~ It is a naturally transmissible cancer in dog's that is usually spread via direct contact with the tumor during mating.

Symptoms of TVT:

▪️ swelling of ge****ls (not in heat)
▪️ bleeding from ge****ls (not in heat)
▪️ cauliflower-like "stalk" appearance
▪️ Firm but easily friable texture (it may bleed or tear easily)

If these symptoms persist on your furbabies, consult your Veterinarian immidiately.

Dog received chemotherapy (treatment of choice of our case) and fully recovered.

Warning ⚠ May trigger Scoleciphobia A 10 month old Shihtzu visited us with chief complaint of anorexia. Upon checking his temperature (rectal) we're surprised to find maggots in the thermometer and upon checking CRT multiple maggots was found in his oral cavity. On closer inspection his fur, fly eggs and larva are also found in his body eating his flesh and swarming around . This is a case of Generalized MYASIS What is Myasis ❓️ Myiasis is an infestation of living animals with dipteran fly larvae. Fly eggs laid on moist skin or in wounds hatch into larvae (maggots) that secrete proteolytic enzymes and digest cutaneous tissue. It is common in cats and dogs, especially in animals that are weakened, have urine-soaked skin, or are paretic.
