Intestinal Intussusception

Intestinal intussusception in dogs is a disorder that causes the intestines to twist and turn into one another. The condition is most commonly found in large and giant breeds of dogs, but can also be found occasionally in smaller breeds. intussusception in dogs can cause an obstruction, which could lead to severe health complications. If your dog is experiencing sudden vomiting or diarrhea, lack of appetite and lethargy, it’s best to contact your veterinarian immediately.

Clover came to us with re**al prolapse, upon examination and some test he was diagnosed with intestinal intussusception. He recently underwent surgery and is making a great recovery.

After 2 days of medication kumakain na sya paunti unti unlike the first day. Aggressive and resisting due to stressful events 😔 His vitals are stable but still under observation.

Kiba has been through a lot based on his x-ray result but he is fighting and will keep on fighting.

Umbilical Hernia

Umbilical hernias are a common finding in many puppies. Most of them are basically belly buttons. If small, they may seal up on their own and generally don't cause any problems. Larger ones may require surgery to close up the abdominal wall and prevent intestines from slipping out or getting twisted.

Ung was born with umbilical hernia. He was brought to the clinic due to lethargy, vomiting, swollen hernia, and constipation. Upon physical examination his intestines were trapped and strangled that causes him problem in passing stools. He had his surgery/hernia repair last week to correct and put everything back to where it should be.

Hypoglycemia

Hypoglycemia or "low blood sugar" refers to a low level of circulating glucose in the bloodstream. When the amount of sugar in the bloodstream becomes too low, the body starts to show symptoms of not having enough energy to operate.

Low levels of glucose can be extremely dangerous to a dog, and this condition needs to be treated quickly. If you suspect hypoglycemia, bring your pet to a veterinarian immediately.

Sam came to us hypoglycemic and admitted promptly. After almost 24 hours her blood sugar levels returned to normal. And the usual happy and healthy pup is back 🩵🩵🩵

Gastrotomy

Gastrotomy is a surgical procedure in which the stomach is opened up to remove foreign bodies that have become lodged inside the dog. It is necessary to surgically remove these items if they are sharp, obscure, or too large for endoscopic extraction.

The best way to prevent items from getting stuck in your dog's digestive tract is to never allow your dog to chew on things unsupervised. Once a toy begins to break it should be immediately discarded.
