This is Hera's first litter. Our initial ultrasound indicated that we had 6 puppies and we are so happy to confirm 5 heads in this x-ray!

We are expecting any day now and our vet told us that Hera may need to undergo CS. We are a bit worried but at the same time, super excited to have another litter!

This is Dunkin of The Dachshund Foundry. He's a shaded red, miniature dachshund. We've had him for almost four years now and is a proven stud! He's a carrier or piebald, blue and long coat genes.

Update on our three previous pups! First is Queen, she's an indoor type of Doxie Second is Lucky, he loves trekking outdoors and, Third is Arya, she's always up for a good swim!

Dachshund Coat types 101 The Smooth Coated Dachshund smooth coated Dachshund is the best known of the various coat types, and has the classic look that one thinks of when they think of the Dachshund. Their sleek and shiny coat is made up of short, straight hair, which is why they are also referred to as a short-haired Dachshund. Smooth is dominant to Longs, if a dog has one S and one L gene it will be a Smooth, but it carries the Long gene and therefore can pass it on to its progeny and produce “recessive Longs”.

Dachshund coat types 101 The Long-haired Dachshund As the name indicates, the long-haired Dachshund has long silky hair, which is often slightly longer and wavy around the ears, chest, back of neck, back of legs, underbelly, and tail. The long-haired Dachshund has an elegant look, almost resembling a small, short-legged Irish Setter, or Golden Retriever. is recessive to both Wire and Smooth, therefore if the dog has a Longhaired Coat it has to have 2 copies of the Long Haired gene (LL); two Longhaired parents can only produce Longhaired puppies.

How we began...

The Dachshund Foundry, formerly known as RC Kennels - Iloilo came from a humble beginnings of being a simple pet owner way back in 2015. Immediately captivated by this awesome and utterly diverse breed, we decided to start our own small kennel. It was only in 2018 when RC Kennels - Iloilo was first established in order to centralize transactions with potential fur parents.

We have consistently produce quality and affordable pups for all our aspiring dachshund enthusiasts and has reached nationwide coverage. We hope to further expand our lines and meet global standards with our dachshunds.

We have partnered with The Doxie Den and many other breed enthusiasts to reach our goals. The Dachshund Foundry 's mission is to preserve the breed's standard and become a bastions when it comes to ethical and proper care of dachshunds and will continuously endeavor to educate ourselves and other about dachshunds.
