Penny was brought in our clinic due to a bone lodged in her molar teeth. We managed to put the patient under anesthesia and safely remove the bone. Patient was prescribed antibiotics and anti-inflammatory because the gum surrounding the teeth was infected. The patient was relieved and on the road to recovery.

Heartworm disease is a potentially fatal, but preventable, infection caused by a worm parasite, Dirofilaria immitis. The organism is transmitted by mosquitoes, which carry the heartworm larvae (called microfilariae) from an infected animal host to a new animal host.
