Job Description
VETERINARIAN
I. DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Examine/Check animals on their health status and diagnose illnesses and determine/prescribe the best treatment.
• Administer, prescribe, and dispense medicine.
• Vaccinate animals to prevent diseases and promote the health and wellness of animals by advising animal owners, about sanitation measures, feeding/nutrition, preventive healthcare, and general care.
• Update clients on the progress/status of their hospitalized animals and appoint follow-up check-up upon discharge.
• Perform dental, ophthalmic, surgeries, and other veterinary technical procedures.
• Performs pre- and post-surgical/procedural treatment and evaluation.
• Endorse treatments, medications, and vet medical procedures of hospitalized animals to fellow veterinarian when off-duty.
• Update client/patient records and ask clients to sign on corresponding forms/waivers.
• Educate animal owners / public about disease and infectious that are tranferable from animals to humans.
• Conduct home visits and emergency call.
• Revise, updates and make necessary forms, records, and waivers.
• Teach, supervise, and give instructions to veterinary assistant / aide on their daily routine and other activities.
• Ensure compliance with existing law and veterinary ethical standards, policies, and related guidelines.
• Euthanize animals in a acceptable situations, such as in terminal illness to prevent prolonged suffering of animals.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as duly assigned by his/her superior
II. JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Degree in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
• Possess PRC License
• At least 1-year relevant experience, in companion animal practice
• Ability to use medica includes work experience as a Veterinarian, Veterinary Technician or Veterinarian Assistant
• Experience conducting various types of surgeries, vaccinations, and health checks on animals.
• Knowledge of medical equipment (e.g., ultrasound machines) and anesthesia procedures.
• Effective communication skills, oral and written and able to communicate with discretion, and ability to explain medical terms and conditions using simple language.
• Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal.
• Knowledge in animal behavior and strong fondness and understanding of animals.
• Ability to show compassion to both pets and animal owners.
• Willing to assigned and relocate on other clinic branches when deemed necessary.
• Ability to work extended hours and on-demand and take evening shifts in case of emergency.
• Availability to take evening or weekend shifts in cases of emergency.
• Has proven record on leadership, excellent team player, people skills, organizational, problem-solving skills and results driven.
• Flexible and can adjust quickly on any given situation.
• Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
III. WORK HOURS AND LOCATION
Eight (8) hours per day, six (6) days per week
Principal work location is at the assigned/designated branch.
*Offered salary (35,000 to 45,000/ higher) is based on each applicant/candidate job experience, skills and management ability.
