WILDLIFE IN NEED

At Cassa de Perro Veterinary Clinic, alongside the Wildlife Rescue Team of PAMBCU-CENRO Zamboanga City, we're working to help this long-tailed macaque recover.

It was bitten by a monitor lizard, leaving multiple deep wounds. If left untreated, the fly eggs found on the injury could lead to serious issues.

We’re doing everything we can to help this little one heal.

PARVO SEASON ALERT 🚨

We’re seeing a significant rise in Canine Parvovirus cases, and our canine ward is almost full. Please ensure that your dogs are fully vaccinated and keep them indoors, away from potentially infected animals.

If your dog is unvaccinated and showing symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea (loose or bloody), loss of appetite, and lethargy, bring them to our clinic immediately. We are one of the few clinics in the city that offer confinement for sick pets.

Buenas dias Zamboanga!

We are happy to introduce you to our veterinary student intern, Reezl! A proud Zamboangueña, Reezl has spent most of her life here in the beautiful Ciudad de Zamboanga. She graduated from ADZU High School and is currently completing her Veterinary Medicine degree at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Southwestern University, Cebu City.

Reezl has a passion for small and exotic animal care, and we’re delighted to have her with us, where she is gaining hands-on experience under the supervision of our veterinarians. Today, she shared a special moment with us as she introduced her pet, Snow, an adult ball python!

Reezl will be with us until mid-February as she continues her studies and works toward becoming a fully licensed veterinarian. We’re happy to support her and encourage you to send her your well wishes as she finishes her courses.

At Cassa de Perro Veterinary Clinic, we take part in nurturing the next generation of veterinarians, and we’re always excited to welcome passionate students like Reezl. If you're interested in learning about the day-to-day life in a small animal clinic, we accept interns and volunteers to work alongside our team.

EAR MITES IN CATS AND DOGS Ear mites are a fairly common parasite in both dogs and cats. These tiny critters live on the skin of the ear canal and feed off ear wax and skin oils. Like other external parasites, ear mites are able to multiply quickly and contagious to other dogs and cats in the household. Most if not all pets with ear mites exhibit excessive ear shaking and scratching that may lead to visible redness and irritation of both ears. Severe cases can cause neurological signs and deafness. There can also be black ear discharge that sometimes let off a bad smell. It is best to talk to your veterinarian about your pet’s ear problem. Without fast and effective treatment, ear conditions can cause serious pain and discomfort. Talk to our team on how to prevent and treat ear mite infection.
