Rainy Season Alert: Giardiasis in Dogs 🦠💩 🌧️🐶
The rainy season brings cooler days, muddy paws and unfortunately, a higher risk of Giardiasis — a common intestinal infection in dogs caused by a parasite called Giardia.
What is Giardiasis? 🦠
It’s an infection of the intestines caused by drinking contaminated water, licking muddy paws, or sniffing dirty puddles all too common during rainy season.
Symptoms to watch out for:
✅ Diarrhea (sometimes with mucus or blood)
✅ Weight loss
✅ Vomiting
✅ Dehydration
✅ Lethargy
Prevention Tips:
✔️ Keep your dog away from stagnant water and
muddy areas
✔️ Clean paws after walks
✔️ Provide clean drinking water at all times
✔️ Regular deworming and vet check-ups
