We learn, unlearn and re-learn. In the process we tend to grow. This growth not only symbolizes our intellectual progress but also our behavioral transformation within a group.
Few man carries the aura that our President Engr. Muhammad Hasnain Khan carries. Be it his impeccable intellect, his unflinching reliability or his leadership, he outshines everyone else. Being the President of Pakistan MUN Organization, he has served as a shinning beacon for all his colleagues and subordinates. His charismatic personality has been a prime driving forces behind different MUN circuits in the country. Having an extensive debating career he has served in every role from delegate to Committee Director, and from an Organizer to Secretary General of numerous MUNs he has seen and experienced it all. From PMO being a brain child to it becoming Nation-vide phenomena, we owe most of our progress to our Founding President Engr. Hasnain Khan.

Now that his term as President of Pakistan MUN Organization has came to an end, We Present our very firts Roll of Honor to our very dear President Engr. Muhammad Hasnain Khan, in recognition of his services for debates and MUN freternity extending over a decade. And with this effort we also aim to start a tradition of recognizing the efforts of those who have shinned brighter in arena of public speaking, debates and Model UNs. India with its recent controversial legislation is trying to scrap out Kashmiri Sovereignty and further subject Kashmiri people to human Rights abuse. This move is not only morally wrong but also voilates UN Resolution and bilateral agreements.

Kashmiri people deserves a life of happiness prosperity and peace. With these controversial ammendments to Indian Constitution, India is trying to introduce Israeli model of settlements ultimately making Kashmiri Population a minority and refugees in their own territory.

4 years passed since the tragic 16 Dec 2014. The horrors of the day, are still fresh and the wounds still open. Those 144 souls, each a different universe in their own selves. From Principle Madam Tahira Qazi to 5 year young khola. Each and every one of them.
No amount of words would ever be enough to describe their humane bravery, their last wishes, last fears, last longing for their loved ones.
Let us vow to never let that happen ever again. Let us work for that end. Let us help each other in uniting upon the grounds, foundations of which they cemented with their blood.

The United Nations designated the first Monday of October of every year as World Habitat Day to reflect on the state of our towns and cities, and on the basic right of all to adequate shelter. It is also intended to remind the world that we all have the power and the responsibility to shape the future of our cities and towns.

2017 theme: Housing Policies: Affordable Homes

Each year, World Habitat Day takes on a new theme to promote sustainable development policies that ensure adequate shelter for all. These themes often promote one of UN-Habitat’s focal areas such as:

-Inclusive housing and social services
-A safe and healthy living environment for all — with particular consideration for children, youth, women, elderly and disabled
-Affordable and sustainable transport and energy
-Promotion, protection, and restoration of green urban spaces
-Safe and clean drinking water and sanitation
-Healthy air quality
-Job creation
-Improved urban planning and slum upgrading
-Better waste management

Ageism is a widely prevalent and prejudicial attitude that stems from the assumption that age discrimination, and sometimes neglect and abuse of older persons is a social norm and therefore, acceptable. It is a reality in some form in all societies, and finds expression in individuals’ attitudes, institutional and policy practices, as well as media representation that devalue and exclude older persons. In 2014, Governments around the world adopted a resolution at the Economic and Social Council that recognized ageism as “the common source of, the justification for and the driving force behind age discrimination.”

Such discrimination shapes how older persons are treated and perceived by their societies, including in medical settings and workplaces, creating environments that limit older persons’ potential and impact their health and well-being. The failure to tackle ageism undermines older persons’ rights and hinders their contributions to social, economic, cultural and political life.

“Stepping into the Future: Tapping the Talents, Contributions and Participation of Older Persons in Society.”

The theme of the 2017 International Day of Older Persons is about enabling and expanding the contributions of older people in their families, communities and societies at large. It focuses on the pathways that support full and effective participation in old age, in accordance with old persons’ basic rights, needs and preferences.

This year’s theme underscores the link between tapping the talents and contributions of older persons and achieving the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing, which is currently undergoing its third review and appraisal process.

Knowledge like air is vital to life. And like air no one should be denied of it"
We would not be doing justice if we didn't appriciate CIMUN '17 of staying true to this quote. They provided with both the knowledge in the form of committee room debates and air in the form of their energetic social events.
Be it the parallel universe where the world is under the threat of alien domination, or the burning contemporary issues that requires serious and urgent attention of every class of our society. Each and every delegate of CIMUN '17 gave there best to tackle these issues.
True essence of debate is that one learns constantly, be it the experience that the committee moderator impart into their delegates or be it the knowledge that the delegates shower upon their fellow diplomats.
COMSATS International MUN '17 keeping true to its tradition, has proven yet again being an outstanding platform that has provide the thristy knowledge seekers with the nectar to quench their thrist.
Special mention goes to the Host team for working tirelessly in both, making the event possible and making the quality of debate above the mark.
