Creatures Comfort - SASCAP is currently functioning in Karachi as an Animal Welfare Organization, established on the 9th of June, 2020. Creatures Comfort - SASCAP came into existence with the mission of becoming a platform to raise awareness and protect the voiceless creatures, especially dogs, of Karachi. Our aim is to n

ot only focus on educating the people of our community, but also provide necessary protection through our shelter, food, treatment, relocation services, and overall rescue of dogs (and other animals such as donkeys) across the city of Karachi under certain policies. We focus on those cases that pertain to dog and donkey abuse, whether they may be minor injuries, extreme physical abuse on the streets, or those who may be subject to being purposely poisoned and killed by authorities and civilians. We thoroughly believe and work upon improving the state of dogs to the best of our capabilities and make sure that through our projects we can make great differences along the way. A mother cow carries her baby for nine months.

Just like a human mother.

When her calf is born, she licks him clean. He tries to stand on wobbly legs.

But he won’t get to stay.

Within days, he’s taken away.

Both mother and calf cry for hours, sometimes days.

The calf goes to a veal crate or is shot as “waste.”

All so humans can pour milk into coffee ☕

Compassion isn’t extreme.

Ripping mothers and babies apart for profit

In this Op-Ed for The Express Tribune, , our Animal Law Teaching Fellow and Lewis & Clark Law School Animal Law LLM alumna ('20, Pakistan) argues that there is dire need to update Pakistan’s anti-cruelty legislation. She explains that Pakistan’s Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1890 "is a colonial era inheritance that our legislatures have never repealed or amended (save a 2018 amendment to update penalties at the federal level). The PCA Act is little known, outdated and underenforced, with its penalties serving as no meaningful deterrent against cruelty to animals."

Hira urges that real progress for animals in Pakistan will require provincial buy-in "to ensure that any reforms are implemented across the board..."

FIREWORKS & AERIAL GUN FIRING💥💣💣🧨

اگر آپ انسانوں اور جانوروں سے سچی محبت کرتے ہیں تو آج رات نٸے سال کی آمد کی خوشی میں ہونے والی آتش بازی کی تقریبات میں شمولیت مت کریں۔
کیونکہ آتش بازی کے زور دار دھماکوں سے کمزور دل افراد، چھوٹے بچے، پالتو/گلی محلوں کے جانور، معصوم چڑیوں سمیت مختلف اقسام کے پرندے ڈر کر بری طرح متاثر ہوتے ہیں۔ بہت سے تو ڈر کی وجہ سے مرتے بھی ہیں۔ کیمیکلز والے دھویں سے فضا الگ سے آلودہ ہوتی ہے۔
ایسی فضول تقریبات میں جانے کی بجاٸے اپنی فیملی کے ساتھ وقت گزاریں۔
یہ مختصر پیغام اپنے سارے دوستوں اور عزیزوں کے ساتھ فوری شیٸر کریں۔

Many people enjoy the blasting and booming sounds and flashing lights of fireworks. Unfortunately, they can be terrifying and overwhelming for indoor as well as outdoor animals and possibly hazardous. The noise is just as overwhelming when fireworks are set off in residential areas on weekdays and working residents are effected at odd hours of the night 😕😕

This New Year night, many animals will become traumatized by the noise and commotion of fireworks. House pets will run from otherwise familiar environments and people, and sadly, sometimes become lost. Birds sleeping in trees will also get injured. These birds are sometimes seen flying off in fright and confusion due to noise – they will eventually be caught in the cross fire of exploding colors and zipping bullets.
Fireworks not just add pollution to our already bad air quality but recently have been becoming a menace during wedding season blasting off at odd hours of the night while nearby residents struggle to get a good night of restful sleep.
Governments have over time imposed various bans on fireworks and aerial firing but sadly rules continue to be ignored. Such disregard and ignorance has claimed human & animal lives.

Dogs and cats left outside or home alone may go to extreme lengths to escape the explosions. Some end up hit by cars or killed in other ways as they flee. They may also injure themselves or others in their panic and terror—particularly if they are tied up or caged.

Wild animals are also vulnerable during fireworks displays, not only because of the high levels of stress that such displays may cause but also because fireworks that explode near them may injure or kill them. Those who are rearing their young may abandon them to starve to death in order to flee for their own lives.

Did you know that stray dogs wake up very early in the morning with the aim of looking for food 🍗 and water 💦 to stop hunger?

If they find nothing, they start eating w**d to feel like they are chewing something and then end up falling asleep all day, outside a house, at bus stops, trying to save what little energy they have.

When they wake up the hunger has not gone away, on the contrary, it has increased and they go to the garbage bags.

Please help the street dogs, by feeding them. Many people chase them away but they too belong to this world 🌎
Do not be indifferent it is terrible to suffer from hunger and thirst and not be able to speak. Street dogs just want to survive.

If you see a dog alone and looking for food, help him 🙏🙏

With heavy heart we are writing this post that we have alot of pets for adoption because their owner's are no more willing to keep them Whether it is a breed dog or cat, or a local pet. Everyone wants to get rid of their pet. Shelters are not place for pets. We are non operational at the moment but multiple calls we are getting for pets Adoption or they want to relocate their pet to shelter so that he/she could not get return back to their home again.

Even after our adoption posts, many animal lovers try to approach us specifically for breed dogs & cats. But after certain time they also abandoned them or return us back.

WHY YOU TAKE PETS WHEN YOU CAN'T KEEP THEM?

Pets are either dumped on the streets, left alone in vacant properties or remote areas, or dropped off to animal shelters. However, people start realizing, that they do not have enough time for their pet or are just not as interested in their pet anymore, they are reselling their pets, surrendering them to shelters and sadly for some abandoning them on the streets.
