This is Disco, yet another abandoned pet
At CDRS Benji, weāre here for the street animalsāthe ones whoāve never known a safe place to call home, a gentle touch, or a warm meal. Yet, too often, weāre faced with abandoned pets, animals who once belonged to families, who had a bed, a name, maybe even a favorite toy. Pets who thought they were loved, only to be cast out as if they meant nothing.
When a pet is abandoned, their heart shatters. They donāt understand why they were left behind, why the door shut on them without warning. Some wait by roadsides or shelter gates, hoping their families will come back. Others roam aimlessly, scared and confused, suddenly thrust into a world where nothing makes sense.
They may seem resilient, but inside, theyāre broken. And it takes time, love, and patience to heal that kind of betrayal.
Our mission has always been to protect the most vulnerable, and these abandoned pets deserve that compassion too. They need usāand with every heartbreaking intake, weāre reminded why this work matters. Thank you for helping us stand by these forgotten souls, for giving them a chance at the love they believed in, even when others turned away.
Please sponsor Disco as your shelter pet for Rs 9,500 per month to let him feel a sense of a forever home once again ā¤ļø
So every time we post Cammie updates, many people show up to write mean and hurtful comments as if to insinuate that we havenāt taken care of her. However, the reality is that sheās doing very well BUT we asked Sheema and Dr Babar to answer some āconcernsā people like to attack us about without understanding how basic animal care works or why certain things happen
1. Mange is a common fungal occurrence in camels due to the mange mites that get under their skin. It happens to other animals as well including dogs, but quite common in camels due to their constant presence in sand/mud - Cammieās mange was very slight when she initially came and it was negligible - BUT IT HAS BEEN MANAGED by administering the necessary medicines by Dr Babar at the Livestock department and besides some superficial scarring, has no affect on her quality of life. The mange was controlled from spreading and now just the healing of the skin is taking place which takes TIME in the heat and humidity.
Secondly, people talk about her being āweakā - again she has a panel of vets and several experts internationally also advising and looking out for her - based on being 3-legged sheās on a controlled and balanced diet and the MOST important thing for her survival is her ability to stand and move around.
We cannot over feed her just to appease people when overfeeding and gaining weight could lead her to become completely immobile and become a threat to her survival.
So next time you feel the need to criticize us, remind yourself on the fact that we dedicate our entire year, day and night to ensuring the best for every animal under our care and we will ONLY ALWAYS do what is best for each individual animal.
Hope this video clarifies any unanswered questions and people learn to have a lot more faith in those who live and breathe for these animals.

šØ New Rescue Alert! šØ
We recently rescued the sweetest little donkey, and our hearts are breaking for him. He was abandoned after suffering a painful leg fracture, left to fend for himself. To make matters worse, thereās a metal bit that was placed in his mouth, which has caused deep cuts, making it hard for him to even eat properly.
Despite all this, heās one of the sweetest souls youāll ever meetāgentle, trusting, and full of love. Now, heās safe with us, but he needs a lot of care and attention to help him heal.
š Weāre looking for a sponsor to cover his monthly care costsāRs 13,500 per month. Your support would cover his medical treatments, food, and rehabilitation, helping him get back on his feet (literally!) and start a new chapter of his life.
And guess what? He needs a name! Drop your suggestions in the comments below and help us give him a fresh start. š„°
Also, a little happy news: Sheema is back! After battling chikungunya for a week, sheās feeling much better and back to work. Weāre so grateful for her strength and commitment, and we missed her around here!
Your kindness can make all the difference. If youād like to sponsor our precious new donkey or have any name suggestions, let us know! ā¤ļø

Today, we lost a precious soul. Holly, a sweet and loving dog, was hit by a car and tragically passed away from internal bleeding. She didnāt deserve this ending.
This heartbreaking loss reminds us of the importance of driving safely and being aware of your surroundings. One small mistake can take an innocent life, leaving behind pain and loss. If you accidentally hit an animal, please donāt leave them to suffer. Turn around, stop, and see how you can help. That small act of compassion could make all the difference. Holly didnāt get that chance, but we can honor her memory by making sure no other animal is left behind to suffer alone.
Drive carefully. Lives are at stakeāboth human and animal.

Coffee was sleeping peacefully on the Roadsideā¦ Until Her Life Changed Forever
This beautiful soul was simply trying to rest when her world was shattered. She was sleeping on the roadside when a car ran her over, leaving her paralyzed. What should have been a peaceful moment turned into a nightmare, and now, every day is a struggle for her.
But sheās safe with us now at the shelter, and weāre doing everything we can to give her the care and comfort she needs. Despite the trauma sheās endured, she still shows us so much resilience and loveāreminding us that even in the hardest moments, these animals have so much heart.
Her journey is far from over, though. She needs ongoing medical care, therapy, and a safe space where she can heal. And thatās where you come in. We need your help to cover the costs of her care. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a huge difference in her recovery.
You can also sponsor her, giving her the ongoing support she needs to live a life free of pain and full of love. She deserves a second chance, and with your help, we can give that to her.
Please consider donating or sponsoring her today. Together, we can give her the comfort and care she deserves after all sheās been through.
URGENT APPEAL: Help Us Build a Safe Shelter Wall for Our Dogs
At Benji, we do everything in our power to keep our animals safe and comfortable, but weāve hit a critical challenge. Our current fence is far too weak, and despite multiple repairs, our playful and curious dogs keep breaking through it. The safety of our animals is at risk, and we need your help!
Weāre looking to replace the broken fence with a strong, durable precast wallāthe same kind we used inside the blue cage, which has proven to be effective. However, the cost of this project is 346,500/-, and we canāt do it alone.
Every donation counts, whether big or small! Your contribution will help us provide a secure environment for our dogs, protecting them from harm and ensuring they have the safe haven they deserve.
How You Can Help:
1. Donate: Even the smallest amount makes a difference. Together, we can build this wall!
2. Share: Help us spread the word by sharing this post with your friends and family.
3. Sponsor a Section: Want to make an even bigger impact? Sponsor part of the wall and have it named in your honor or in memory of a beloved pet.
We know that with your support, we can create a safe, secure space for our dogs to play, rest, and thrive. Thank you for always standing by us and helping us continue our mission to protect these beautiful souls.

THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!
Today we had a scheduled visit from @four_paws_international and The awesome Dr Amir Khalil facilitated by the Sindh Livestock Department that has been incredibly supportive and accommodating since Cammie came around.
The Four Paws team was very happy to see Cammieās healing and applauded our team for their great work and absolutely loved the shelter. We are super grateful to their support and guidance and they plan to help us speed up the process by bringing needful things to close up her skin when they return in 3-4 weeks so that we are prepped and ready for Bioniks and prosthetic experts to move forward ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø
Our team along with all these amazing humans have been working tirelessly for months to do everything right for Cammie and that is why we have asked people to be patient and not try to make accusations or rush us because we are working with the best of the best. Inshallah before the end of the year we all hope to show you Cammie on all four legs š¤²š¼
At CDRS Benji, we pour our hearts into caring for our rescued animals. Despite all our efforts, ticks remain a persistent issue in our shelter, especially with neighboring farms nearby. We know how harmful these pests can be, so weāve requested our animal sponsors to help fund Bravecto for their sponsored pets.
However, it breaks our hearts when we administer Bravecto to some animals while others, who are unsponsored, look on without the protection they need. š We wish every single one of our animals could have a loving sponsor to provide them with the essentials, especially when it comes to their health.
While we recognize that Bravecto is a luxury, we are grateful to our friends at www.pawltoo.pk for providing us with amazing wholesale rates, enabling us to protect our furry friends from these awful ticks. Since we started this initiative last year, our mortality rate has plummeted to nearly zero, a stark contrast to the constant cases of tick fever we faced before.
A special shoutout to Noraās sponsor, who decided to fund 30 Bravecto tablets, allowing some of our weaker unsponsored dogs to receive this crucial protection. Bravecto helps safeguard dogs from ticks and fleas for up to four months, giving them the relief they desperately need.
Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these deserving animals. If youād like to help, please consider sponsoring a pet or contributing towards Bravecto for our unsponsored babies. Thank you for your continued support! ā¤ļø
At CDRS Benji, weāre always looking for creative ways to make our space cozier for our rescued animals. Today we took some donated pallets and transformed them into swing beds for the cats in our cattery! š¾ These swings are now their favorite spots to relax and enjoy a good nap. šŗ
If you have any old furniture or materials that can help us make our space even more inviting for the animals, weād love to receive your donations. Weāll happily pick them upājust let us know! Your contribution can make a world of difference in creating a cozy and comforting environment for our furry friends. Thank you for your support! ā¤ļø
