A case was presented today at Cuddles Veterinary Hospital with Presenting Complaint a swollen and painful right ear.
The owner noticed her scratching her right ear excessively over the past few days. An History of fight was reported ♥️

Auricular hematoma in cats refers to the accumulation of blood between the skin and cartilage of the ear flap (pinna). This condition is often caused by trauma or injury, such as scratching excessively due to ear mites or ear infections, fighting, or accidents.

Treatment✨
The hematoma was drained using a sterile needle and syringe, removing the accumulated blood carefully.
The cat was prescribed a course of antibiotics to prevent secondary infections and pain medication to alleviate discomfort.
Use of E-Collar to avoid itching. Inj Kanamycin
Inj Phenramine maleate.
Lidosporin drops.
