The Lahore Zoo is one of the largest zoos in South Asia and is also thought to be the 4th oldest zoo in the world. Originally a small aviary, o

ver time the number of animals increased and today it houses over 1300 animals. Initially managed by the Lahore Municipal Corporation, it now comes under the Wildlife and Parks Dept. of the Government, with the Zoo Maintenance Committee in charge of its welfare.
