The first animal to go to space and orbit the earth was Laika, a russian stray dog. She was launched into space in 1957 in the Sputnik 3 spacecraft but tragically perished after a few hours in space.
Animal flights were considered necessary by scientists to understand the effects of low gravity on living organisms before human missions could be planned.
Despite the significance of Laika's sacrifice, it's heartbreaking to note that even if Laika had survived the harsh conditions of space, she was destined to die alone in the spacecraft. Sputnik 3 was never meant to come back to earth.

1 year old Female Angora Rabbit up for adoption.

This female and her newborns were living in very harsh conditions at the animal market situated at College Road, Rawalpindi. I rescued them 2 days back but the newborns died.

I cannot keep her because I don't have enough space and she deserves better.

Kindly DM if anyone's interested. Only people having experience of keeping rabbits should contact.

We are at war with nature. We chop down trees to build more malls, offices, residential complexes and anything to boast our progress and development. We kill (stray) animals. We do all of this because we do not understand nature. We kill.

I'm posting this video to show that the street dogs (in Karachi) are NOT vicious beasts that need to be mercilessly killed. They just want love, food and somewhere to live. Just like we do.

Please share videos of yourselves feeding (or adopting) these gentle, sweet creatures to show the ignorant and misinformed that street dogs are NOT a danger and to stop supporting culling of street dogs.

Trigger Alert!
I'm posting this to expose these so-called maulvis of Masjid Hudaibiya in Sector F-11/2, Islamabad near Tehzeeb Bakers. Yesterday these barbarians fed poisoned meat to 6 puppies living on an empty plot across Tehzeeb.

These puppies resided on the empty plot for the last 2 months and were regularly fed by local residents including me and my husband. All the dogs were very friendly.

3 of the puppies died after consuming the meat while we rescued the other 3 who are currently in critical condition with a veterinarian.

How can one call himself a Muslim when he doesn't show kindness to Allah's creation? If the maulvis had an issue with the dogs, they could have relocated them instead of killing them.

The maulvis of this mosque don't even follow the teachings of Islam and portray themselves as the custodians of our faith. Please spread this post and make more people aware of their reality.

A beating heart is forcibly stopped from beating, against its will. I'm deeply disturbed and saddened by the recent incident of animal cruelty in Askari-14, Rawalpindi, Pakistan. It's heartbreaking that a stray dog whom I loved, fed, and cared for has been poisoned, along with other innocent animals in the area. They have spread poison all over Askari-14 & DHA by the Cantonment Board according to a guard I talked to. It's disheartening to see that instead of addressing the root cause of the issue, which is the wide-open spaces allowing stray dogs to enter, the authorities have decided to resort to such inhumane measures. This is unacceptable and goes against the basic principles of compassion and kindness towards all living beings. Animals are killed just because they're innocent and don't know what's happening. The use of poison to control the population of stray animals is not the solution. It's a cruel and inhumane method that inflicts immense pain and suffering on innocent animals and poses a severe threat to the safety of the entire community. Such practices not only violate animal rights but also harm the environment and the ecosystem. I won't say it for everyone, since this was caused due to complains from various people around the colony even though the dogs did nothing to them but bark at night or during the day when other dogs barked which is naturally what every dog does. It is everyone's duty to speak out against such atrocities and demand a humane solution to this issue. We must call upon the authorities to fix the underlying problem by creating barriers and spaces to prevent stray animals from entering the area. At the same time, we must work towards implementing spaying and neutering programs and other humane methods to control the population of stray animals. Pakistan is already sufferi
