Abandoned at Our Clinic — A Sweet Soul Still Hoping for Love
Two days ago, a dog was quietly left at our clinic. After reviewing our security cameras, we confirmed that he was tied to our entrance early in the morning by a person who deliberately covered their face. Watching him desperately try to follow that person as they walked away… and seeing him continue wandering around the clinic searching for his owners, still hoping they would return for him, has been devastating for our entire team. Seeing that hope slowly fade has truly broken our hearts.
Despite everything he has lived through, this sweet boy has shown only kindness. He is gentle, playful, and extremely friendly. So far, he has gotten along very well with other dogs —and even with cats. His heart remains full of love, even after being abandoned.
Yesterday, we found a handwritten note taped to the railings at our entrance —presumably left by the person involved. The message stated that this dog had been physically abused by his previous owner and that leaving him here was an attempt to help him find a safer home.
At our clinic, we do not tolerate any form of abuse. We love, value, and respect every animal that walks through our doors, and we strongly condemn the mistreatment this poor soul has endured —regardless of the circumstances. No pet deserves fear, pain, or abandonment.
Our security cameras captured the vehicle involved, and we are taking the necessary steps to address this situation with the responsible parties.
What we do know for certain is this:
This pet should not —and will not— be returned to those who chose to abuse and abandon him. He deserves better, and we are committed to helping him find a permanent, loving home.
Sadly, we are not a shelter or an adoption center, and we do not have the resources to keep him long
term or provide him with the full quality of life he deserves. However, we will work actively to ensure he is adopted into a safe and compassionate home.
We are asking our community —our family of animal lovers— to help us give him the future he deserves.
If you or someone you know can offer him love, safety, and a true forever home, please contact us at Taino Veterinary Clinic at 787-252-0817, 787-868-4141(text only), or email us at [email protected].
Animals feel pain. They feel fear. But they also feel love —and this sweet boy still has so much of it left to give.
