Lots of heartache over the last week. I suppose, that’s just what comes with the rescue world, but my gosh, we sure hate it!!!

We lost Benji yesterday! 💔💔

Please keep his foster mama Lisa in your thoughts.
The loss - it’s devastating and it hurts 😟.

We were hopeful, that after his mass removal, he would be ok - and he was for a few weeks. We thought he was recovering and doing so well, but then, he took a quick turn for the worse. We still aren’t sure if the mass, was cancerous or not - but thinking it was. The mass was pretty large when we rescued him and our vet removed as much as he could. We sure tried our best, but it just wasn’t enough 😢.

Ohhh Benji, you were such a stud!
You made friends so easily and you fit in so naturally. I’m glad we got to meet you and that you spent your last few months, loved, taken care of, laid on beds/couches, got lots of treats and felt somewhat, healthy. You were such a great boy. In your next life, we hope we meet you again. YOU WERE LOVED!!!

▪️UPDATE▪️

Our newest boy (who is in horrific shape), has been with our specialist over the weekend. We drove him two hours on Friday, so he would receive the best care. We are signed on fully, to give him, a second chance.

We were expecting the worst news (as you can imagine). After visiting with the specialist, this is what we know:
⬇️⬇️
▪️Blood work was done and surprisingly, it’s not too bad. It also showed he was negative for heartworm (thank goodness).

▪️Both elbows are swollen/hard. Instead of it being cancer, the specialist is leaving towards, a severe case of arthritis, that was left untreated. It went from bad to worse, because nobody was taking care of him the proper way. So, to anyone that’s says these dogs are ok on the street - YOU ARE SO WRONG!!

▪️He was given a nexguard and a medicated bath - bugs were everywhere!! They were even crawling out of his eyes. If you have never seen this first hand, pray you never do. It’s disgusting and painful to watch!!

▪️The 30 plus pellets (yes he was shot), will remain in him. The specialist said, it could cause more damage, to try to take them out and they have been there awhile - AWFUL!!

▪️A series of X-rays were done and nothing seems broken. He can’t stand or walk still. The specialist wanted to keep him under his watch, so we can determine more.

▪️The number one reason of why he is in this condition, is PURE NEGLECT! A human allowed him to deteriorate in this way. It’s truly sickening!!

The specialist did tell us, that there is a new “experimental” and pretty “expensive” new injection, that does wonders, for arthritis and the joints. We said - whatever the cost is - WE WILL DO IT!! The injection would be once a month. We are fully committed, to do whatever, to get him healthy and comfortable.

All rescues work differently, but we would NEVER euthanize, because of the cost. He deserves a second chance just like any other soul.

We can’t wait to see him standing on his own, basking in the sun and a beautiful/fancy collar on him. He is the most regal boy!

Fifth pup up is Perry!!!

This one is very special to us 🥰.
We rescued TWO adult dogs and THREE pups this day. To say we were stressed, is an understatement. Now, a few weeks later, we get to see that the stress, was so worth it!! Look at his life today!!!

Perry won!!!
He is off the island and in a loving home.
We originally sent him to a “foster” home and that quickly turned into a forever home. It’s impossible not to love him. He is such a sweet boy.

A huge thank you to ➡️➡️ Kayla for helping us with Perry. She was with us every step of the way and we appreciate her so much. Perry found himself a wonderful mama. He is going on adventures, walks, cuddling, getting food regularly and even learned what a TV was 🙃 ( ).
He will forever live the life, he deserves!!

This makes our work, so worth it! 🤍🤍

A huge thank you to Montgomery for fostering him in NY. We are just thrilled, that she is now part of, the SOS foster crew. We lovveeee our fosters!!

Another congrats and thank you to ➡️➡️ Madeline and family for welcoming Danny into their lives. He is being loved beyond. He is non stop being held, loved, cuddled and adored. to melt!!

Third one up is Mr. Maxx 🩵!!

We are so happy to post this one.
Our favorite posts, are when our adult dogs, find their forever homes. The adult dogs are our favorite 🥰.

A huge thank you to ➡️➡️ Maria - Elizabeth - Marisol - Karla and her mom Nilda - Nydia and hubby - and anyone else, who helped Maxx along his rescue journey. We truly appreciate our volunteers/supporters beyond 🫶🏼.

Another thank you to ➡️➡️ Aubrey and family, for choosing Maxx, out of all the other dogs they could have adopted. After being tied to a chain, he certainly deserves it. He is such a loving, sweet, calm, adorable soul. He deserves to be in a home and with a family. We were glad to help him find that. Good job Maxx!!

First one up is MARLO 🩵.

A huge thank you to ➡️➡️ Michael for fostering him in the NJ area this entire time. He did such a great job with him and we are thrilled to add him on our foster roster. We couldn’t do any of this without our fabulous foster team! 🤍🤍

Another extra thank you to ➡️➡️ Maggie and hubby, who drove from Boston, to meet Marlo, pick him up and bring him home. We knew they were the dream couple for Marlo. He is going to live such a loved life. Yay!!

….and the case keeps getting worse 😓.

The X-rays show, he has been shot with a pellet gun - SHOT!!! So not only was he suffering from neglect, he couldn’t walk, starving to death - somebody decided that wasn’t enough, he needed to endure more pain on his body, so they used him as target practice. Over 30 pellets are lodged throughout his body. Most were aimed at his head and neck. Seriously why?!

He isn’t doing good and it’s heart wrenching, to witness this kind of abuse, first hand. Come on, being involved in the rescue world isn’t a trend or hobby - if you are doing it for the right reason, it’s such a battle. The heartbreak you see on a daily basis - it’s so f*cking heavy.

Today - our day took a sharp turn of what we had planned, to now, trying to rescue one more soul!! It’s really hard to get stuff done here, because our life is consumed with dogs needing help 😒.

This dog has been on the beach, since July (or so we have heard), could even be longer. Look at him! Does he look happy? Does he look healthy? Do you think this is the life he wants? Like come on people, stop saying these dogs are “ok”! Let me put you on the beach for a few days, occasionally feed you (if you are lucky), sit on the hot sand/pavement and then check in to see what your answer is. Pretty sure, you would ask to be in your home - where food and cozy areas are endless! Stop saying the dogs are OK with this life - THEY ARE NOT!!

Also, let’s point out the scars covering his little head. He probably got those from being attacked by other dogs. Not to mention, he has fleas, ticks and a belly full of parasites. Imagine how he truly must feel! Miserable!

We are working on, trying to find a way, to save him!
We will need help with boarding. He is an adult dog, which means, foster will be very hard to find. We need boarding for at least TWO weeks - $10 a day.
Please help us secure that, so we can get him picked up!!

Rescue of the day was this little cutie 👆🏻.
✨

A huge thank you, to the kind couple, who met us today. They drove part way and we drove the other - the things we all do, to get these puppies safe 🤍.

This little baby, was abandoned on a feeding route, with adult dogs. She could have been attacked and she certainly, wouldn’t have made it on her own. She is a baby!!!

We are out of room at our boarders, at our vet clinic and at our foster homes - WE ARE MAXED! So, what do we do in a situation like this? We brought her home, to our house, until we figure out a plan 😣. Let me remind you ➡️➡️ we have our personal FOUR dogs, Mira the feral dog, plus Mama Pittie and her EIGHT puppies here, already - crazy level.
‼️Please don’t ever message us and say “I can’t foster, we already have two dogs”‼️ I’m not the person to say that too. We aren’t just running this rescue and tasking people. We are in the thick of it - right along with our fosters - FOSTERING!!! This isn’t a hobby to us! This is real life and it’s a hard job!!!

He is already stateside and doing wonderfully in his foster home. All you small dog lovers - this is your boy!

This was the home, Edie was meant to be in.
We couldn’t be happier he found an amazing couple, to love him, for forever.

Edie lucked out, finding this wonderful couple.
What a fabulous life he gets to live. We love the updates and pictures that are being sent our way. He is one loved little pup 🫶🏼.
