Foster in Puerto Rico needed!

Hi guys! Meet Bandit! Bandit’s a sweet, funny girl who needs a one month foster. This girl is about 2 years old and great with all other dogs. She’s much smaller than she looks weighing in at around 26 lbs. She’s spayed and fully vaccinated.

Bandit came from a neglectful home that had her living outdoors on a two foot chain under a tree. Because of this she is still a little shy even though she loves humans and all she wants to do is play. Her shyness comes out ONLY when you’re trying to put a leash on her - she does her best to get away. But once leashes she’s a really good walker!

Ideally we find someone who is willing to give her the patience she needs to work through this. She’s very food motivated so that helps!

We provide all supplies.

On behalf of everyone at Barks of Hope, I want to extend our deepest gratitude for your incredible efforts in making the recent relocation of 18 dogs a reality. Thanks to your time, dedication, coordination, and love, these dogs now have a new chance at a better life.

This achievement would not have been possible without each of you. Whether you helped with transport, temporary fostering, logistics, fundraising, or just spreading the word every single role mattered. Your compassion and commitment brought this mission to life, and your teamwork exemplified the spirit of rescue.
Relocating animals safely and humanely is no small task, and the care you showed throughout the process reflects the best of what our community stands for. These 18 dogs are now on a path filled with hope, health, and happiness, thanks to you.

From all of us at Barks of Hope, and from the wagging tails and grateful hearts of our furry friends thank you. We are truly honored to have you as part of this journey.

I want to take a moment to thank each and everyone of you for your love, support, and specially for your prayers during my breast cancer surgery. Your kind words , prayers and messages and simply being there for me meant more than I can express.

Unámonos en oración y pensamientos positivos, pidiéndole al Señor que guíe cada paso de los doctores y que cubra a Leo con su paz, fuerza y sanación.
Estamos contigo, Leo. Te rodeamos con amor, fe y esperanza. 💗

Hello,
My name is Enid, and together with my husband Deneb, we are active volunteers at Barks of Hope.

As many of you already know, our dear Leo will undergo breast cancer surgery on June 27. During this very difficult time, we kindly ask our community to give Leo the space and peace she needs to go through this process.

Although we have shared this before, we continue to receive daily requests for help. It truly breaks our hearts to say no, but at this moment, we simply do not have the emotional or physical capacity to take on new cases.

We are asking for your understanding. Leo has given so much of herself to animals and has helped thousands of families across the island. Now, she needs our compassion and support as she focuses on healing.

Once she recovers, we will be back, as always, doing everything we can for the animals who need us.

Thank you for your empathy and for respecting this time of rest and recovery.

Hola,
Mi nombre es Enid y, junto a mi esposo Deneb, somos voluntarios activos de Barks of Hope.

Como muchos ya saben, nuestra querida Leo será sometida a una cirugía de cáncer de seno el próximo 27 de junio. En este momento tan delicado, les pedimos encarecidamente a todos en la comunidad que nos ayuden brindándole a Leo el espacio y la tranquilidad que necesita para atravesar este proceso.

A pesar de que ya lo hemos comunicado anteriormente, seguimos recibiendo solicitudes de ayuda todos los días. Nos duele profundamente no poder responder como quisiéramos, pero en este momento no contamos con los recursos ni la capacidad emocional para atender nuevos casos.

Solo pedimos un poco de comprensión. Leo ha entregado su vida a rescatar, cuidar y luchar por los animales de nuestra isla, y ha sido un apoyo incalculable para miles de familias. Ahora, ella necesita nuestra solidaridad.

Después de su recuperación, estaremos aquí, como siempre, para seguir luchando por ellos.

Gracias por su empatía y por respetar este momento de pausa.
