Visitando a nuestro pequeño gigante, Bobby. 🐾 Ayer fue el día #27 de su hospitalización. 😔

Parece que siempre se alegra de vernos. ☺️Cada vez que me levanto, intenta con todas sus fuerzas ponerse de pie también. Tal vez piensa que por fin ha llegado el momento de regresar a casa. 💔

El equipo veterinario nos informa que Bobby usualmente no intenta levantarse por sí solo y que aún no puede caminar. 🥹 Pero verlo luchar con tantas ganas nos recuerda por qué nos negamos a rendirnos. También nos confirmaron que es un excelente candidato para terapia física y que, con tiempo, paciencia y el tratamiento adecuado, Bobby volverá a caminar.

Aunque ha mejorado mucho, aún necesita atención médica, pero muy pronto esperamos que pueda comenzar sus terapias físicas y tratamientos de láser terapéutico. Cada nuevo día le brinda una mejor oportunidad de recuperar la vida que merece, pero también significa que los gastos médicos continúan aumentando.

Visiting my gentle giant, Bobby every other day.🐾 This was yesterday, at day #27 of his hospitalization. 😔I truly think he is always happy to see me. Every time I stand up, he tries with all his strength to stand up too. Maybe he things is finally time to come home. 💔

The veterinary team tells us he still isn’t trying to get up on his own, and he’s not able to walk yet. 🥹 But seeing him fight so hard reminds us why we refuse to give up on him. They confirmed he’s a good candidate for physical therapy, with time and the right treatment, Bobby will walk again.

While he has made incredible progress, he still requires around-the-clock medical care, and will soon begin physical therapy and therapeutic laser treatments. Every new day of treatment gives him a better chance at the life he deserves—but it also means his medical expenses continue to grow.

Hay rescates que indudablemente te cambian para siempre…

Hace apenas unas semanas, Bobby regresó a mi en condiciones inimaginables, después de lo que debía haber sido un hogar seguro. Llegó severamente desnutrido, cubierto de heridas, incapaz de ponerse de pie, llorando de dolor y luchando por su vida. Los veterinarios le diagnosticaron septicemia severa y, desde ese momento, cada hora se convirtió en una batalla por salvarlo.

Hoy, gracias al extraordinario cuidado de su equipo veterinario Hospital Veterinario Dr. Antonio L. Rivera, y a la generosidad de tantas personas de gran corazón, Bobby sigue luchando.

❤️ Ha recuperado gran parte de sus fuerzas.
❤️ Está comiendo muy bien.
❤️ No se ha rendido.

Pero su camino hacia la recuperación aún no ha culminado.

Bobby continúa hospitalizado en condición crítica. Aunque ha mostrado una mejoría extraordinaria, su conteo de glóbulos blancos sigue elevado, lo nos confirma que la septicemia aún no ha sido superada por completo y sus heridas continúan causándole un dolor significativo.

Es fundamental que permanezca en la clínica bajo supervisión médica para luego podré brindarle la mejor oportunidad posible de una recuperación completa y sin dolor. Mientras Bobby continúa luchando, Rocky, también permanece bajo cuidado veterinario recibiendo tratamiento contra anquilostomas (hookworms), lo que continúa aumentando los gastos médicos.

There are moments in rescue that change you forever. Bobby’s story is one of them.

Just weeks ago, Bobby was returned to me in unimaginable condition after what should have been a safe placement. He arrived severely emaciated, covered in painful wounds, unable to stand, crying in agony, and fighting for his life. Veterinarians diagnosed him with severe sepsis, and from that moment on, every hour became a battle to save him.

Today, thanks to the extraordinary care of his veterinary team at Hospital Veterinario Dr. Antonio L. Rivera, and the generosity of so many compassionate people, Bobby is recovering.

❤️ He has regained strength.
❤️ He is eating very well.
❤️ He has not given up.

But Bobby’s journey is far from over.

Although he has made remarkable progress, his white blood cell count remains somehow elevated,his sepsis has not yet fully resolved, and his wounds continue to cause him significant pain. It is important Bobby remains hospitalized to help us give him the best possible chance at a full and pain-free recovery. While Bobby continues his fight, another one of my rescues, Rocky, also remains under veterinary care while receiving treatment for hookworms, adding to the growing medical expenses.

Rocky se encuentra bien, pero deberá permanecer un poco más en la clínica mientras continúa su tratamiento contra los anquilostomas (hookworms). Lamentablemente, ha dado positivo en dos ocasiones, por lo que no podrá regresar a casa hasta que obtenga un resultado negativo.

Siempre que me es posible, visito a ambos todos los días. Paso un rato con Bobby y luego s**o a Rocky a dar un pequeño paseo. 🐶🐶

Con ambos perros bajo cuidado veterinario, los gastos continúan aumentando y, como rescatistas independientes, realmente no podemos hacer esto sin su ayuda. Somos una organización pequeña y las facturas veterinarias nos han sobrepasado al punto de que, en este momento, hemos tenido que detener todos los rescates y no podemos aceptar nuevos casos. 💔

❤️ACTUALIZACIÓN DE BOBBY❤️

Nos llena de alegría compartir que Bobby ha recuperado parte de sus fuerzas y está comiendo muy bien. El próximo paso será realizarle radiografías para determinar si sufrió algún daño neurológico o una fractura, y así poder elegir la mejor opción de tratamiento para él. Bobby presenta lesiones en la cabeza y el cuello. 🥹

Su conteo de glóbulos blancos ha disminuido considerablemente. 🙏🏼 Sus riñones, hígado y niveles de creatinina también se encuentran en buenos valores. Aunque esto ❤️ un enorme avance, debido a la gravedad de la infección, la septicemia y las dolorosas heridas que sufrió, Bobby deberá permanecer hospitalizado, ya que aún no se encuentra lo suficientemente estable como para regresar a casa.

Continuará recibiendo líquidos intravenosos, antibióticos de amplio espectro y medicamentos para el dolor las 24 horas del día. Cada día adicional de hospitalización significa que sus gastos médicos continúan aumentando.

‼️UPDATE ROCKY‼️

Rocky is doing well, but he must remain a little longer at the clinic while he receives treatment for hookworms. Unfortunately, he has tested positive twice, and he cannot come home until he tests negative. I visit them both every day I am able to, stay with Rocky for some time then take Rocky for a short walk. 🐶🐶

With both dogs under veterinary care, the expenses continue to rise, and as independent rescuers, we truly cannot do this without your help. We are a small organization, and we are struggling with the vet bills to the point that we are currently not rescuing and are unable to take any new cases. 💔Any help will be greatly appreciated it. We will published invoices and payment records on our social media posts and stories.

Any dry food for large breed dogs is welcome! It can be found at grocery stores, Walmart, Costco, Sam’s ect. 🙏🏼

❤️UPDATE BOBBY❤️

We are so grateful to share that Bobby has regained some of his strength and is eating very well. Next step will be getting him X- rays to determine if there has been neurological damage or a fracture, then choose the best therapy option for him. He has injuries to his head and neck. 🥹

His white blood cell count has lowered considerably🙏🏼 kidneys and liver, as well as creatinine numbers are good. While this is a huge step forward, due to the severity of the infection, the sepsis and painful wounds Bobby still will remain hospitalized, as he’s not stable enough yet to come home. He will continue receiving IV fluids, strong antibiotics, and pain medication around the clock. Every additional day in the hospital means his medical bill continues to grow.
