🇬🇧🙏🆘 We urgently need to raise funds for Nalah. She has advanced stage Feline Leukemia, a disease that depresses the immune system. In Nala's case, it mainly affects her mouth, causing severe inflammation. She is in so much pain that even with a huge appetite she is unable to eat by herself. Her gums are so inflamed that all her teeth, except the incisors and canines were removed under emergency surgery yesterday. An esophageal tube has been placed for feeding and dehydration. Nalah can recover and lead a normal life but only if she receives consistent treatment with Interferon Omega which unfortunately comes at a high cost. Please help with any amount you can afford. 🇵🇹🙏🆘A Nala tem leucemia felina, felv. Esta é uma doença que deprime o sistema imunitário e pode afetar o animal de várias formas.

No caso da Nala, afeta maioritariamente a boca, causando uma inflamação severa, tendo ela tanta dor que mesmo com imenso apetite não se consegue alimentar.

Foram realizados exames para se detetar a doença e se avaliar glóbulos vermelhos e brancos.
Tentou se medicação sintomática que melhorou temporariamente o estado clínico mas não resolveu.

Como na ecografia estava tudo ok decidiu se avançar com a remoção dentária. Foram removidos todos os dentes com excepção dos incisivos e caninos. Foi colocado um tubo esofágico e terá de ficar internada para alimentação e correção de desidratação.

É recomendado também o tratamento do felv com o interferon Omega.

Find Foster Forever Cat & Kitten Rescue

We are a home based sanctuary focused on finding, fostering and helping find forever homes for hungry, injured and sick cats that have been abandoned in the Cascais and Sintra areas in Portugal.

There has been an increase of 50% of people abandoning their pets since the crisis. Every day cats are abandoned on the streets and kittens thrown in dustbins. Kind people who cannot adopt them post pictures and plead for help with food or adoption on the local media pages. The animal sanctuaries are often over crowded and understaffed, even more so now due to the current crisis. One at a time, we will find and collect them from the streets and provide a safe and caring foster home until we find them their loving forever homes. During this time they will be loved, cared for and taken to the vet for treatment as necessary. Many of them will have injuries, fleas, worms or other diseases and will need neutering, medications, vaccines and some will need surgery. Extremely important is the individual time and one to one care they receive from a real and loving home until they are healthy, happy and ready for their forever homes. We need financial help for veterinary fees, surgeries, medications, vaccines and food - Please help us to save one at a time. They are innocent and it is heartbreaking to witness and impossible to ignore.
