Sweet, sweet Lourdes, goodbye 💔
This place won’t be the same without you.

She was the queen of the flock, calm, generous, and loved by everyone.
All the kids from learned from Lourdes what a chicken really is: a sensitive, curious being who loves company and feels safe close to those she trusts.

Lourdes was the first chicken rescued here. She lived free. She raised her son Jo with care, and she shared her days with a kind and loyal companion, Rusty.
We hope she is with Jo now, who left far too soon.

Today is a sad day. Tomorrow she won’t be here, roaming around the sanctuary with her quiet sweetness, approaching gently as she always did.
But there is also gratitude. Lourdes lived the life she deserved, with freedom, respect, and love.

Thank you, Lourdes. You will stay with us, always. 🖤🐔

✨ Yesterday was the Day of the Dead Pets ✨

Today we take a moment to remember and celebrate all the souls who once lived here with us, their beauty, their love, their unique presence. 💛

Each of them left a mark on our hearts and helped shape what is today. 🌿
We know we did everything we could for them, and that brings us peace, but we miss them deeply.

This reel is just a glimpse… not all are pictured, but all are remembered. Always. 🤍

👑 Elvis is a king, strong and resilient but also goofy and sensitive🐐

After everything he’s been through, he truly deserves a place of honor. 💛

I’m so grateful to my friend Valentina aka for creating this beautiful illustration that captures his spirit so perfectly. 🎨✨

With this special drawing, we’ll be making new gadgets so everyone can have a little piece of Elvis at home. 🏡💚

If you don’t know Valentina yet, go check out her page she’s an amazing Italian illustrator and tattoo artist who supports many sanctuaries in Italy… and us too! 🌿💪

We hope she’ll come visit us soon at the Coimbra Vegan Market, so you can meet her and see her stunning work in person. 💫

De Regresso às Raizes...!

O Projeto Riza nasce no (re)encontro da Isabel e do Joel, ao fim de 18 anos. O desejo e necessidade de se conectarem com as (suas) Raizes deu a força para transformarem a sua vida. Sonharam uma Quinta(das Rizas) onde plantam com Amor e sem agrotoxicos, onde acolhem alguns animais que habitam o santuário. Sonharam um Alojamento local próximo da quinta( 5minutos a pé), onde acolhem hospedes que queiram usufruir da calma e do ar puro, e conhecer o projeto, assim como voluntários e interessados em retiros.

Além do Amor que partilham um pelo outro, amam as Plantas e as suas medicinas, os Animais, os Antigos Costumes, a Harmonia entre a Comunidade. Respeitam os cliclos da Natureza, que tanto querem preservar. Pretendem criar um ecossistema sustentável e equilibrado. Apaixonados pela Permacultura e tudo o que ela ensina. Acreditam que é urgente ensinar as crianças e partilhar com os adultos a sustentabilidade ambiental, o respeito pelos animais, experiências em família e a valorização do campo.
