This weekend, Casa Cadaval travelled to Badajoz to proudly participate in 2025’s edition of Ecuextre y Toro & it was an unforgettable event for our stud farm!

Our house rider André Costa presented the horses Peridoto and Oboé, obtaining brilliant results:
🏅 Peridoto — 1st place in the 6yo Preliminary and 6yo Final classes, obtaining the scores 80,500% & 82,200%
🏅 Oboé — 1st place in the 7yo Preliminary & 7yo Final classes, obtaining the scores 75,975% & 74,714%
- 2nd place in the Models & Gaits for ridden Lusitanos (5+ yo), obtaining a golden medal

Vasco Ribeiro also stood out with Nuclear, competing in Prix St. Georges and Intermediate I, earning 1st place on both days with the scores 68,823% & 68,431%.

All three horses are proud representatives of Casa Cadaval breeding — we couldn’t be happier with their results and the dedication of their riders.

Oboé had his first outing at the 7yo Young Horses level this weekend and he handled his debut like a pro — scoring 70,76% on the first day and upping it to 71,86% on the second.

Last weekend, Periodoto competed at his first CDI3* and we couldn’t be more proud!

After starting in the carrières last season, this bright young stallion has been turning heads everytime he steps into the arena and this weekend wasn’t any different. Under the saddle of he finished the weekend with two great scores of 77,600% and 79,600%, showing the constant improvement that he has already gotten us used to!

Now it’s time for Peridoto to rest and focus on the upcoming commitments. Stay tuned!

Finishing off the competition season with & Neptuno conquering a well deserved 3rd place in the Advanced level at the National Cup Final at .

Neptuno is a horse who integrated our project mid season and along with they competed up and down our country. Their work came to an end in this last competition of the season, in a highly competitive class, where they stood up against some of the best riders in the country and still conquered a place on the podium!

Starting another competition “weekend” at Ponte de Lima Horse Fair with & Peridoto scoring a well deserved 80,600% in the 5yo FEI Preliminary test, consolidating their previously obtained score in Golegã and proving that they can maintain a steady level from test to test.

Another successful competition weekend for & Peridoto, on his third competition ever, this time in Festival Internacional do Cavalo Lusitano!

Today, and Peridoto, competed on the Elementary Level of the Functionality Tests hosted by FICL and conquered a brilliant second place with a score of 69,769%.

This young stallion, bred and owned by keeps surprising us and making us proud! With only three competitions on his record (and competing against horses with far more experience in the arenas) he managed to perform a clean test, exhibiting energy, impulsion and a great mindset in the carrière, which allows his rider to guide him through all the exercises without compromising the quality of the gaits.

We’re very excited to see what the future holds for this young athlete!

Yesterday we returned home from Peridoto’s second competition weekend and we couldn’t be happier!

This amazing young stallion competed in the 5yo Horses class and reached the brilliant score of 80 points on his first test of the weekend.

We are incredibly proud of the evolution he’s been showing under Andre Costa’s saddle and we are anxious to see him progress even more!

It’s now time to rest and prepare the next commitment, which will be next weekend at the Festival internacional do Cavalo Lusitano.

First outing of the year for Peridoto from and he simply couldn’t have behaved better!

At only 5 years of age, this young stallion behaved like a gentleman, revealing great etiquette around both mares and stallions and an outstanding focus during the whole training sessions.

Last weekend we started the competition season with the very premiere of our duo & Diamante in Prix St George, and we couldn’t be happier with the results!

Diamante joined our team last year and our rider André has been working with her in the last few months. Last weekend he had the chance to pick the fruits of his work and test drive her in the carrière, holding a score of around 67% on both days, coming up first in his class two days in a row.

We are thrilled with this partnership and can’t wait to see this duo developing on the arenas throughout this season!
