FAQs

WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR CERTIFICATION?

I received my certification ITG First Aid Instructor Level 3 (VTQ) from ProTrainings UK, which is a nationally-recognized, accredited professional first aid training provider. Additionally, I have nearly a decade of experience as a certified nurse (for humans) in Scandinavia.

DO I BRING MY DOG TO CLASS?

No, not for this course. We practice only on plush dogs and a manakin.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

All materials are provided, including note-taking materials. You don’t need to bring anything.
Refreshments are included.

DO I GET A CERTIFICATION FOR THIS COURSE?

Yes. You will get a personalized certificate upon completion.

IS IT DIFFERENT FOR BIG AND SMALL DOGS?
This course is appropriate for all dogs. Some details are different for small and large dogs, and we provide personalized advice for your pups based on details like breed and size. We’ll also ask for information about your dog during sign up.

IS THIS INFORMATION RELEVANT FOR CATS AND OTHER SMALL ANIMALS?

This course was designed to specifically aid dogs in emergency situations. Although some of the information might be applicable to cats and other small animals, it is not the primary goal, unfortunately. We do not currently offer training courses for cats, but may offer them in the future.

WHAT’S THIS CLASS LIKE? WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

Fido First Aid helps you learn how to identify if your dog has a medical emergency and to intervene accordingly. It is a mix of slide-based practical information and hands-on experiential learning.
Classes are held in my own home, and there is a maximum of four participants per class.
