Due to the given occasion... 😓
They have a dog... such a great dog that you would like to have ONLY 1 x puppy from her?
Your dog is undocumented, but that's not that important to you... because she's a wonderful, wonderful dog anyway... and this is why you definitely want puppies one day. “They’re going away like hot buns” you think!
"They are sucked by their mother, they play sweetly with each other and in a blink of an eye, 8 weeks are over and the buyers are queuing up"... what do you think?
But you don't know anything about your dog's parents, grandparents and great-grandparents because there's no record of it unless it's a VDH dog, for example.
Perhaps the great-grandma had strung legs? Maybe Europe had a massive dental defect? Maybe grandma was too anxious and shy? Maybe grandpa was very aggressive and stingy? Maybe the dad had HD (a terminally ill hip)? Maybe the mom had an endogenous eye disease?
Now get your dog covered by a male, whose ancestors may also carry a number of disease genes. (Because a VDH dog, for example, will not cover your female dog, you have to take one without VDH papers. )Now can you imagine what diseases the puppies can have? Maybe your dog "only" gets 8 puppies and these ones are sick!.
They don't gain weight well, they may not even look like purebred dogs... They're shy or blind or don't get teeth!
Nobody's going to buy you one of these...
And if you do, then you constantly have people on the mat complaining about wanting their vet fees reimbursed or even giving the dog back!
Then sit on multiple puppies. those who want to eat 4-5 times a day, who will make piles every 3-4 times a day, p*e, gag, play, fall, bite everything ...
do you have the space, time, and money for it? (It may happen that these puppies are healthy - but NEVER assume!) )
But how much do you think it all costs? Maybe there are complications a C-section is needed.
Maybe the female dog dies at birth, maybe she'll get an infection? Maybe the vet has to come every 2 days.
Maybe the whole litter will get a bowel infection?
Maybe everything's okay, but what if it's not?
Even with experienced breeders, there are already complicated litters with C-section and immensely high vet costs.
A pregnant female dog needs special food, a litter box, she needs regular vaccinations and dewormed. Birth is not always pretty: blood, slime, fruit. The dog has been running out for days, needs to be kept clean. The litter box has to be big and high enough, washable and sometimes you have to change the covers every hour.
Laundry comes together like a big family. Some dogs are a little "stupid", they lay down or step on the puppies. You always have to be there!
Some fat puppies push the smaller ones away, so the little ones have to be placed in the best seats so they don't fall behind in development.
Starting on the 3rd. Puppies eat their own food for a week. It's a big mess when they play with their paws in the baby porridge.
Puppies need to be regularly dewormed and vaccinated at least 1x by your TA.
How far away does your vet live... can he come quickly in an emergency?
When the puppies are 4-5 weeks old:
Yes, then it really starts.
You need lots of space, detached or fenced, warm, dry and clean. Puppies need to be socialized, that means getting used to all noises and objects of everyday life, otherwise they will always remain shy and anxious.
Raising puppies is so much work. 24 hours around the clock - and for at least 8 weeks!
Do you have the courage to do this? Do you have the money for it? Do you have the time and nerves for this? You can't tell your puppy buyers that the puppies' ancestors were healthy dogs since you don't have any medical records. What do you do when takers say "Nope! We don’t want such a breeding dog! “
Do the puppies get inherited diseases, you have to stand for it right now - financially of course!
You have to invest a lot of money and have a very high risk. Shouldn't one bear the greatest responsibility possible when one wants to bring (leave) living beings into the world?
How would you feel if your litter of puppies were seriously ill and the poor animals were in pain for their short lives?
Look at your dog's face and think hard about your plans... or had !
Now look in the mirror and ask yourself, "Do I want to be responsible for some MORE DOG MISERY?"
And now don't say, "But once in a lifetime puppies are good!" “
NOPE it is NOT... this is a breastfeeding fairy tale stuck in minds that don't think!
