April 4th is World Street Animal Day!
The initiative was spearheaded by Dutch organizations with the noble aim of mitigating the plight of abandoned animals. Though not formally recognized, numerous organizations globally seize the occasion to shed light on the staggering reality of approximately 600 million homeless animals worldwide.
Street dogs and cats are innocent victims, thrust into their circumstances through no fault of their own. Abandoned by their owners, born into the harsh realities of the streets, or simply lost, they endure a life of hardship. Often malnourished, they brave extreme weather conditions and suffer from various illnesses. Subjected to persecution by hostile individuals, they face violence and danger daily. They did not choose this life, yet they must endure it – tragically, for many, it becomes their untimely demise!
Promoting adoption campaigns, supporting NGOs that take in abandoned animals or even choosing to adopt an animal are acts of love and citizenship that also contribute to the quality of the environment and human health.

MITO - um peitoral ensina o cão a puxar a trela
VERDADE - a única coisa que ensina um cão a puxar a trela são as consequências
O teu cão aprende a puxar com base no que acontece depois de ele puxar e não pelo material que está a usar.
Se ele aprender que ao puxar consegue aproximar-se do que quer, ele será recompensado por puxar e repetirá esse comportamento no futuro.
Se as coleiras só por si evitassem que os cães puxassem, não encontraríamos tantos cães na rua a puxar com coleira no pescoço….
Afinal, o problema está no método ou no equipamento? Definitivamente, não é no equipamento...
Contudo, mesmo que queiram ensinar um cão a andar com a trela solta com coleira, nunca é boa ideia usar uma coleira.
Vou vos dar algumas razões ⏩
▶️ um cão sempre que puxa uma coleira à volta do pescoço perde o equilíbrio e por isso tem que usar o seu humano para se equilibrar, puxando para trás contra ele
A pressão no pescoço:
▶️ restringe a respiração
▶️ reduz o oxigênio que chega ao cérebro
▶️ aumenta a ansiedade e a reatividade
▶️ reduz a capacidade de aprender
▶️ e ainda pode causar danos no pescoço, na coluna e tecidos moles da garganta ao puxar uma coleira com força
A primeira coisa que precisas de fazer, se queres ensinar um cão a andar com trela solta é tirar essa pressão no pescoço! Um bom peitoral tira toda a pressão do pescoço, usando o peito e costas.
Existem diferentes tipos de peitorais, em breve falarei sobre esse tema.
