Any help at all for straw please? Winter 🥶 is now here 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

5° tonight, it’s getting colder and colder here, PLEASE help us keep our rescues warm and dry 😞😞😞

Temperatures have dropped drastically now 😩😩😩
We are late ordering the straw to keep the animals warm in their enclosures.

Our babies are not lucky enough to sleep on a sofa, straw is the only way to keep them dry & warm 😔

There isn’t a single day when we aren’t contacted about a poor soul needing help…
There isn’t a single day when we aren’t put in the situation to say “ no”… From the simple fact that we are full and overwhelmed 😭😭😭

But there are situations when we simply can’t say “ no”, no matter how overwhelmed we are…😭😭😭

This poor soul is a walking skeleton. All wet and frozen 😭 All neglected 😭😭😭 All broken 😭😭😭😭
We need to help him 😭😭😭😭

For the rescue it’s never ending…😭😭😭😭

🐾 Dragi prieteni ai animalelor! ❤️

Pe data de 4 Octombrie 2025, de Ziua Internationala a Animalelor avem o veste minunata!
Magazinul Fressnapf ( Râmnicu Vâlcea) ne este alaturi si ne ofera ocazia sa cumparati, hrana, gustari sau orice pentru animalute, pe care sa le donati direct catre noi, adapostul ,,Viata lor conteaza"!
Tot ce veti alege sa achizitionati special pentru donatie, va ramane la Fressnapf si ajunge apoi la noi, pentru a oferii animalutelor noastre care au nevoie de grija si iubire!
Pentru noi fiecare sac de hrana si fiecare cutiuta conteaza enorm.
Impreuna putem face ca ziua de 4 Octombrie sa fie o zi a bunatatii, in care se aduna mai multe burtici pline si mai multe suflete fericite! 🐾

❤️❤️❤️ 4 October = World Animals’ Day + My birthday + the day ELC started ❤️❤️❤️

This birthday I want nothing else than to know we can provide our animals with what they need!!!!!…🙌
All my life I have wanted nothing else than to be an animal rescuer ❤️
When we initially opened the rescue we only had a small enclosure..
We never imagined we will actually have a rescue one day, a shelter and that we will be able to help so many babies in desperate need. Everything started more than 10 years ago with a tiny enclosure built on a small piece of rented land…
I spent all my childhood loving animals since I was a toddler. My parents taught me how much animals mattered and how important they are.
The fact that I was born on World Animals Day made me believe even more than my purpose in life is to care for animals and save them from abuse and do whatever I can for them …

More than 10 years ago we had nothing! Bogdan and I have worked so hard to make something of it. We put our every waking moment into what we have today, a rescue, a shelter… a shelter for those most in need in a country that only now and only very sluggishly, is coming out of the Dark Ages where animals are concerned.
Our shelter is not the most luxurious shelter but we have worked to make it the most useful and practical in our fight to rescue animals.
We give every single animal we save all the love and care in the world.
These many years have been non-stop. We have rescued not only dogs and cats, but we have also rescued sheep, donekys and goats… Every living soul deserves just that - to live..

❤️Every Life Counts is my life.❤️ It’s the first thing I think about when I wake up and the last thing I think of when I fall asleep. Giving our animals a future is what I live for. It’s what I fight for. And it’s not just the fight to save them medically but the fight against this society here who thinks animals are here to be used and abused or hurt and ignored. It never ends. Day in, day out 😞 😞

Donations have been less than half in the last few months and we have had days when we panicked about how to feed all the animals. We keep having them actually 😞 We think how to make ends meet. We are surviving on debts many times and this is only a short-term coping mechanism as you sadly know 😞 .
Winter is almost installed here and the needs at the rescue during winter are huge…😞
The shelter needs urgent work done before winter completely sets in 😞

This rescue and these animals mean everything to me and Bogdan!!! We are constantly exhausted yet we stay up nights worrying how we can keep the animals fed and vet treated and looked after especially now during this winter that is coming 🥶 🥶

We realise times are hard everywhere and each person has priorities.
We would never ask you to prioritise our animals over your households.
We are very grateful for every amount you can help our animals with, every £1. Sadly for a lot of people, donations don’t seem to cross their mind. We can’t help being cynical and thinking about how much comfort some well-off people have yet they don’t spare a thought for animals who will freeze to death this winter if we can’t afford to prepare hot food for them or buy straw for them to lie on…

We don’t have the words to thank each and every one of you who have always been there and helped us keep going. Our animals owe you their lives. ❤️❤️

For those of you who maybe don’t know us so well or are undecided if to donate, we have over 250 animals in our shelter right now and have been rescuing animals for more than 10 years. We have thousands of posts here showing all our journey through the years. But this is one of the worst time we have ever experienced 😢 😢. We survive and rely 100% on donations. Romanian authorities don’t want to know. Please please everyone help our animals through these hellish times! We can only hope adoptions will pick up again! But nobody knows and in the meantime we have a packed shelter to care for and we can’t shut our hearts off to any life or death emergencies and winter always brings the worst.
Please don’t forget us …..
Our animals’ lives depend on it ….

… Anyone else willing to donate a bag of food ? 😢😢😢

…. It’s World Animal Day tomorrow and unfortunately so many animals are starving on the street 😞
At the same time our food supplies are now getting finished. Sooner than we expected. And this is because we have more rescues than ever in our shelter and because there are more animals than ever on the streets…😞😞😞

The actual cost of a bag of dog food it’s 14€ 😞

Can we make World Animal Day a happy day for our rescues somehow please? 😞😞

… Zoltan is a poor old man aged 10 years old…😞
He belongs to an elderly lady who lives just 3 houses away by our shelter.
Our neighbour is such a kind lady.
And poorly at the same time 😞
Today she came at the gate of our shelter asking for help for her old companion.
Embarrassed, she told us how she doesn’t afford to take her old friend to the vets, embarrassed she asked for help and offered to pay us back something like 20€/month until the debt would be cleared…
The poor lady had no idea about the real costs involved when an animal is poorly and needs vet care 😞
Zoltan hasn’t been eating for 2 days now, he is apathetic, crying, being completely broken.
The poor lady didn’t knew what to do apart asking for help, terrified at the idea that she may loose her best friend. Her only friend ! 😞
We had no heart to reject her, we had no heart to tell her that we hardly manage to pay the bills for our own animals …😞

Poor Zoltan needs to have investigations done, of course he needs treatment at the same time, all this means costs and vet bills that we don’t afford at all at this moment 😞
Zoltan has broken eyes and so does his poor elderly owner 😞

…. Please can you spare a little to help Zoltan? 😢
We feel ashamed ourselves to keep asking and asking for help…
Being an animal lover in Romania it’s heartbreaking 😭😭😭…
