One of Our Beloved Ridgebacks is Looking for a New Loving Home
One of our beloved Ridgebacks, Ayo, is looking for a new loving family. He’s a mature 3-year-old, ready to bring joy and warmth to his next home. Before I post this on the breed club’s page, I want to tell you a little bit about Ayo and his personality.
Ayo currently lives in Switzerland, and his lineage is full of love and loyalty. His father is Maxi, a proud son of my Royce, and his mother is the adorable Danish Neema, the full sister of my Nash.
Ayo is a completely healthy individual with all his vaccinations up to date. He has grown up surrounded by children and is used to being involved in family activities. He is calm, patient, and very loving.
Here are a few details about Ayo from his current owner’s answers to a questionnaire:
Vaccinations: He has only received the first vaccination from the kennel.
Puppy school: Yes, he has attended puppy school.
Health: Ayo is perfectly healthy, with no known medical problems or allergies.
Exercise: He enjoys regular walks, usually 2x1 hour, plus a short 15-minute walk at lunchtime.
Behavior with other dogs: For the past 1.5 years, he has not had contact with other dogs, as his owner felt she couldn’t fully control him around them. Prior to that, he did well with other dogs.
Behavior with children: He is excellent with children, extremely patient. His only issue was a small growl when a child wouldn't leave him alone in his own bed. Older children he is almost indifferent to.
Training: He knows basic commands such as recall, stay, and wait. He has not participated in specific dog sports but has had individual training sessions with different dog coaches.
Alone at home: Ayo has no issues being left alone for up to 5 hours.
Behavior with strangers: Ayo gets very excited and engaged when meeting new people, especially indoors. If given the chance to greet them calmly and slowly, he settles down nicely.
Ideal home: Ayo would thrive in a home with experienced dog owners, preferably with no small children. A family that embraces the lifestyle of having a dog and with access to nature (forest or countryside) would be ideal.
Ayo is an amazing, loyal dog who will need an experienced owner who is confident, clear, consistent, and patient with him. If you know anyone who might be interested in this wonderful boy, please get in touch. We would love to find him a family where he can continue to share his love and loyalty.
