A little update of my female that showed all signs of being gravid this season. She started to eat again last week which they usually not do until after oviposition. And since she has not gained in girth since her last shed two weeks ago she might have just reabsorbed the follicles or i could expect slugs? Its hard to tell where she is in the progress since ovulation is rarely noticed in boelens.
Will give her another two weeks to see how she progress.

This female will be 13 years old this year and i have had her since she was only 3 months old. She was the first boelen female that i bred back in 2013 and then she gave me 10 eggs of which 4 was fertile and hatched. In 2015 she gave me another clutch of 13 eggs were only 2 eggs was fertile and hatched. This season she show all signs of being gravid again and is currentley in her pre-lay shed cycle. Lets hope for the best...

Got some really nice signs in the right direction from one of my females, so swollen that ventral scales comes up on the sides, basking the last part of the body and are now refusing food.

I have not posted in awhile but both of my females are looking good and are prepared for the season. Will introduce the males this week and are hoping for the best, fingers crossed.

Ok, i have been very slow whit updates this season so this is what happens right now. We have been moving to our new house just in the beginning of the breeding season which was quite stressful for the animals. I have also tried different temperature variations to see if i could change why we mostly get small clutches and low fertility. What happens right now is that the female in the picture is producing large follicles but i have no male interested to breed her. I have never had a season before were males are not interested to breed which usually are breeding machines. I will focus more for next season as the animals setles in to their new cages and their new room.
So i wish everyone else a great season!
