Odin has OPINIONS!
We usually do not handle snakes when they're in shed, but we needed to remove him for a few minutes, during terrarium maintenence.

This is Odin, he's a European Adder (Vipera berus) "This small viper inhabits areas farther north than any other snake species and it is the only venomous reptile native to Scandinavia. They're not regarded as a particularly dangerous species, both because they're fairly docile and their venom potency is not considered medically significant. The European Adder usually only bites when severely provoked. The different Swedish localities can have a wide variety of colors, ranging from the common grey/black and brown/black zigzag pattern, to blue, beige and melanistic."

Odins is born in captivity and his grandparents originate from Sweden and Germany. He's s a handsome, but opinionated, boy. Show him some love!

I'm so lucky to have Jennipher mehduzah.reptiles as a venom-handling mentor. My adrenaline is pumping and she always remains calm and informative. When ever I show the slightest sign of being uncertain or uncomfortable, she always takes charge of the situation. Then again this precious little baby Cupcake Snuffles isn't a very defensive lady, at all! (Crotalus pyrrhus)

Tiny piece of darkness. This is not an MBK (nigrita), it's a melanistic Variable Kingsnake, one of the rarest phases of this species. (Lampropeltis leonis).

The first babies of the season have arrived! These are not MBKs, they are melanistic Variable Kingsnakes. (Lampropeltis leonis). Aren't they adorable? This is also my first clutch as a snake breeder.

We brought Mörker, to a secluded area at the park, outside of our apartment and the local newspaper MVT found us. Haha!

(P.S If you want to bring your reptiles out for some natural UVB/UVA basking, make sure that the temperature and humidity is appropriate and that there's not a lot of people or other animals around. If your snakes act stressed, immediately bring them back to their enclosures.)
