Our 4yo corgi was diagnosed with cancer in Sept after his entire spleen was removed in an emergency op after discovering a growth via ultrasound. His PVC suddenly dropped to 7.8% on Monday night and friends helped us to post urgent pleas for a suitable donor as he has a rare blood type (DEA 1 negative). A kind lady brought in her 2yo lab to donate blood at 3am that morning. Rufus’s PVC has since remained stable at 21% but is still low as the normal PVC for canine is 35% - 55%. Vet said there’s a likelihood that the RBC might suddenly drop these few days as the cancer cells are attacking his bone marrow. We desperately need a DEA 1 negative blood donor to standby a bag of blood for Rufus at Brighton vet (Serangoon Gardens Way). Please kindly contact me (Adelin) at 9799-0184 if your dog’s blood type is DEA1 negative with weight of at least 20kg, has no health issue and on regular tick/heartworm prevention med and would like to help Rufus. Thank you so much!
