The long awaited event dedicated to cats is back, and the crew is so excited to meet the kitties and their hoomans.

Some may know that team TAILS started out as The Cat Backpack during inaugural event for fund-raising. Then, it was TAILStore for the second.

This weekend, we are collectively under our parent company - TAILS Inc. (affectionately a.k.a. TAILS).

We were taught that water is extremely important to maintain healthy kidneys which is absolutely correct. So, it is inevitable to think that Tripsy with diuretic properties is questionable for furkids with kidney disorders.

One of the functions of kidneys is removing excess bodily fluids to prevent bloated-ness, abnormal blood pressure, acute kidney injury and deterioration of renal functions.

When kidneys are compromised, filtering out waste and extra water can be impaired and such regular function becomes arduous to the organ. This is when Tripsy can lend a helping hand against water retention, inflammation, stones/ crystals while furkids are being treated with conventional therapies, ideal diet and supplements.

Recommended to improve, support and maintain kidney health, Tripsy is probably one of the most studied herbal blends amongst NHV products.

Besides alleviating discomfort and providing integrative treatment for pre, post and during AKI (Acute Kidney Injury) which includes bladder/ kidney stones and UTI, this gentle concoction can also holistically support the organ upon diagnosis of CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease).

However, the fact that Tripsy contains diuretic herbs has raised some concerns, particularly for furkids with CKD. This led us to question and our following posts will also answer.

Kidneys of dogs and cats are susceptible to injury and diseases.

We wish to observe WKD by raising emphasis on these amazing yet vulnerable organs.

There are 2 types of kidney failure:
- Acute Kidney Failure, aka Acute Kidney Injury (AKI)
- Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)

Abnormality in early stages of kidney disease typically goes unnoticed. Telltale signs surface when approximately 2/3 of the kidney has been damaged. So, we want to highlight the importance of observing your furkids’ kidney health by sending them for periodic organ test.

Though damaged kidneys are irreversible and progressive with age, it is still possible for CKD furkids to lead good full lives if their condition is well-managed with the right diet, lifestyle, treatments, and regular vet checks.
