It's been close to 3 months since Abu left our home and went to his furever home. I have never stopped thinking about him. Some pictures from his pawrent. ❤️

And good news! Abu's sneezing, blood and all, has finally been resolved! Yay, this is the happiest news! Shortly after his new pawrents brought him to another vet to get a CT scan and flushed his nose again, there have been no more issues. We are so glad it is not cancer.

He is now settled in his new home and his new BFF. Too cute lah these 2. Lin, who was his rescuer and I, are just so happy he has found a good home.

Aww they miss each other when Waffles had to be isolated after sterilisation.

When Waffles was kept in a room, Ferrari would often sit outside the door to keep her company. The sweetest thing.

🩶 ABU 🩶

Recently, we brought Abu to another vet to get a second opinion, with the support of .

Dr Yeumee from .sg was very kind and thorough throughout the session. We suspect Abu has cryptococcosis and those affected often require pronged treatment which can take months ufortunately, depending on the severity.

We decided to proceed with antifungal medication 1st and see how it goes from there.

Unfortunately, Abu still has to be confined and isolated from the rest of the resident cats until he gets better.

🩶 ABU 🩶

Sorry we've been busy! So Abu is back with us after a 2-days trial. We are bumped that it didn't work out as well as we'd hoped but we're happy to have him back with us.

Abu wasn't adjusting well so maybe he is more suited for a household where he is the only cat. In any case, this gives us more time to ensure his full recovery and we may or may not try to rehome him. It really depends on whether we can find him the right pawrent.

Meanwhile, we'll be his family for now. 🩶

🩶 ABU 🩶

Abu moved to the cat villa on Friday after a few weeks stay in a room where he was isolated from the other cats.

He still had the cone on to stop him from licking himself until his skin was so inflammed.

Ferrari and Waffles were sometimes a bit curious and will occasionally pop by. Ferrari is, as always, pretty nice but Waffles will hiss at him.

Today, Abu met his potential adopter - a wonderful family of 3. Abu went home with them for a trial period so hopefully, all will go well 🤲🏻. I miss him terribly already... but I know he is in good hands.

🩶 ABU 🩶

Abu is sporting a new look now after being given a clean shave to sort out his skin issues. The poor boy has a lot of scabs on his body and it just saddens me how poorly taken care of he must've been.

I have to f/u with 2 antibiotics shots. A first for me to give injections to any living thing. It was nerve-wrecking as hell. But the good thing is that he seems to be responding well to the meds and is more active and no longer sneezing blood.

I'm also treating his skin issues with medicated body wash and cream. Despite all this, he is eating well and very manja. Hoping he will get well soon and can finally mingle with the rest of the cats. 😘

🩶 ABU 🩶

As it turns out, Abu is indeed unwell. I decided to bring him in cos yesterday, I came home to find blood spattered everywhere. Prior to this, I also saw a few lesions on his body and scabs everywhere.

I got quite concerned and decided to call the vet. I thought his nose issue has cleared up cos I did not see any sneezing or mucus or even blood for a few days.

After the blood test, we found that he is losing blood and protein from all that sneezing. And his kidney is starting to decline. He is also spotted with ringworm.

Altho the vet does not think he has cancer, she is still gonna flush his nose out and check for any irregularities and abnormalities.

Good thing is that he has no infection (so the meds worked) and he has gained some weight. He was 4.5kg earlier this month and he is now 4.9kg.

So for now, Abu will be staying at the hospital for 3 days to be observed and given the nec tx. Hopefully, I will get some answers on his persistent nose issue and that it'll be resolved soon... 🤲🏻

Remember George? George was SO cute cos he was SO chubby! George came to us 3 years ago, also lost but thankfully, he was reunited with his owners soon after.

It's 3am, and I can't sleep so I shall post about Abu. Abu is doing so much better, I didn't see any mucus or blood today so that's good. I'm hoping he is starting to clear up.

When he is not skittish, he is so manja and will come to you for strokes and pets. He is also more talkative today! I dunno how I'm gonna let him go cos I'm starting to grow attached to this sweet guy. I have to emotionally prepare myself but until I find someone who is able to genuinely love and care for him, he will stay with me and I will love him dearly...
