First, I want to thank my clients—who became friends—and my family, for gathering with us to send Precious on her final journey here on earth, as she embarks on a new one beyond. The farewell was unexpectedly light-hearted, filled with memories and gratitude. Precious had this way of bringing people together, teaching us to laugh, love, and live fully. As we reminisced, we found ourselves not in sorrow but in warm remembrance, sharing plans for future adventures with the other dogs she’s left behind. She’s given us so much, more than we ever could have imagined.
They say dogs are angels on loan from heaven, and I’ve come to understand how true that is. In her gentle, perfect way, Precious was my guide and guardian. Back when I was a mess—emotionally raw, impulsive, with the emotional maturity of a child—she was there. She introduced me to people who would help shape me into a better person, a better “pawrent,” and now, a father. Looking back, I think she saw who I could be long before I did. Perhaps now she’s satisfied with the man I’ve become, and that’s why she’s finally ready to return to heaven.
Precious, my sweet girl, thank you. Thank you for the patience, love, and countless moments of joy you brought into my life. You stayed through every phase—my wild teen years, my uncertain young adulthood, and now, as a dad. I couldn’t have asked for a more loyal partner, a better teacher in life and love.
Find your way safely, my angel. When the time comes, I’ll meet you there, and we’ll pick up right where we left off. Until then, know that I love you more than words can say.

Song for Precious.
We had plans to bring her overseas then covid strike, and a series of medical issues after. By the time we know, she's too old to fly. That remains my biggest regret.
So people, act when you can. Because you'll never know when is the end.

**Why Dog Parks Aren't Ideal for Socializing Your Dog**
Dog parks might seem like the perfect place to let your dog run free and make new friends, but they aren't suitable for every pup. While a quiet dog park can offer a safe environment for your dog to explore, many dog parks are overcrowded, leading owners to mistakenly believe they are the best spots for socialization.
Dog parks work well for dogs who are already confident and have good social skills. These dogs understand social cues and can navigate interactions with ease. However, for dogs who are still building confidence or are naturally shy, dog parks can be overwhelming. The rush of a dozen dogs running towards them can be a frightening experience, making it difficult for these dogs to enjoy their time or learn positive social behaviors.
Unregulated environments like dog parks can exacerbate anxiety in dogs who aren't naturally outgoing. If you notice your dog constantly seeking space away from other dogs, avoiding interactions, or sitting close to you despite having room to roam, it's a sign that the dog park isn't a good fit. These behaviors indicate that your dog might be stressed or uncomfortable in such settings.
Instead of relying on dog parks, consider organizing playdates with one or two familiar dogs. This controlled environment allows dogs to take their time getting to know each other. Familiarity is crucial, as dogs need to build trust before engaging in playful behaviors. Through repeated, positive interactions, dogs can develop stronger social skills and confidence.
The same principles apply when choosing a daycare for your dog. Ensure that the facility allows for gradual familiarization with other dogs, rather than overwhelming them with too many new faces at once. By prioritizing safe and positive interactions, you help your dog build the social confidence needed to thrive in various environments.
Remember, the goal is to create a positive experience for your dog, not to force them in
🐾 Introducing the blueprint for tackling dog reactivity without resorting to punishment! 🐶
Step 1: Prioritize your pup's needs. Once had a trainer who struggled with her reactive training progress until she realized her reactive dog just needed more enrichment. Addressing your dog's basic needs can make a world of difference.
Step 2: Implement a management plan indoors and outdoors. Avoid triggers and gradually expose your dog to the environments you both want to enjoy. One good way is long leash walk at trigger free environment.
Step 3: Focus on foundational training and strengthen your bond through play and obedience exercises.
Step 4: Begin your desensitization and counter conditioning program. By adding value and positive associations, you'll see progress without the need for force.
Step 5: Practice your skills in outdoor settings before introducing triggers. Slow and steady wins the race!
This blueprint has helped countless reactive cases without resorting to punishment. Let's build a happier, healthier relationship with our furry friends together! 🌟 #PositiveReactivityTraining #NoPunishmentNeeded #HappyDogsHappyLife 🐾
Generally I don't interrupt a dog while it's correcting another dog because it disrupt the natural communication and social dynamics between dogs. Dogs communicate with each other through body language, vocalisation and other behaviors, and correcting each other is normal part of their social interactions. Interrupting it can lead to confusion, frustration or even aggression due to unresolved conflict.
By allowing dogs to communicate and work through minor disputes on their own allow them navigate social situations independently and develop confidence in their ability to interact with others.
Of course it's essential to monitor their interaction and these are some simple rules to when I allow them to correct;
1. Low risk of injury (both with good socialisation history)
2. Not their first meeting (I don't allow dogs on first initial meeting to correct)
3. Dogs who are out to build social confidence are not allowed to be correct
4. Receptive to corrections by other dogs (dogs who fight back is a big nono)
Disputes that require intervention are;
1. Prolong aggressive interaction that shows no sign of de-escalation
2. Severe bite history
3. Unprovoked, unwarranted targeted aggression
4. Resource guarding
5. Overwhelmed dogs/ Severe stress or fearful dogs
It's important not to overly manage the interaction but owners should always be there to keep a closed eye instead of leaving it unsupervised.

🐾 **Responsible Dog-to-Dog Greetings Guide! 🐶**
Hey fellow dog enthusiasts! 🌟 Today, let's explore the art of responsible dog-to-dog greetings, ensuring our furry pals have positive interactions. 🐕💕
1. **Ask Permission:**
Always start with a simple question – "May our dogs say hello?" Not every tail wag is an invitation, and some pups might be in training or need their space. Asking permission is a basic courtesy. 🙏🐾
2. **Share Details:**
After getting the green light, share some info about your dog. Any triggers or preferences? This helps create a positive environment, especially for shy dogs or those building confidence. Knowledge is key! 🤓🗣️
3. **Alternatives to Face-to-Face Greetings:**
Mix it up! Greetings don't have to be face-to-face. Try the classic butt sniff, walk side by side, or follow each other to pick up on scents. Let's make interactions enjoyable for all our furry friends. 🚶♂️🚶♀️🐾
4. **Learn to Take No for an Answer:**
It's crucial to respect boundaries. If the other party declines, that's okay! Just like us, dogs have preferences, and compatibility varies. Let's embrace rejection gracefully. 🙌🚫
Remember, responsible dog-to-dog greetings create a positive environment for our four-legged companions. Asking permission, sharing information, exploring alternative greetings, and respecting boundaries – these steps ensure happy interactions for all! 🌈🐾 Share your tail-wagging moments below! 📸 #DogLove #ResponsibleInteractions #HappyPups
