[ Very very good news β€οΈ ]
We have worked on this for so long and Iβm so so glad to share some fabulous news π We will soon have MUCH MUCH better animal welfare standards at pet breeders and boarders π
Our doggy Penni is so happy too πΆ Penni was rescued from a puppy mill over a decade ago. She was born with deformed legs (likely due to in-breeding) and was going to be euthanised as she canβt be sold π’ Stories like this will soon be a thing of the past π
From 1 April 2022, pet breeders and boarders will be required to abide by an improved set of licensing conditions that includes the prohibition of breeders from breeding pets with known harmful heritable conditions or carrying out in-breeding practices such as those involving its progeny, parent or siblings π
Many of you have also shared your concerns with me about the Platinium Dogs Club and Iβve spoken up about this in Parliament repeatedly. Glad to share that ALL pet boarders will now be licensed and strictly regulated under better animal welfare standards π
AND AND we also hear your concerns about the euthanasia of healthy dogs and the use of electric collars. AVS has launched a public consultation on a range of topics. Dog rehoming, adoption and training-related issues will be covered, including the adoption process, managing dogs with behavioural issues, and raising the standards of the dog training industry. Do SHARE the good news! Thank you everyone for speaking up and advocating for an end to animal cruelty. Thank you to AVS for making all these changes β€οΈ
