Meet Audi, a beloved 11-year-old who developed an oral mass in 2022. It was benign and removed, but it returned in 2023, growing so much that he can't close his mouth. This time, the mass has fused with his jawbone. The vet says the only way to remove it is a rostral mandibulectomy, removing part of his jaw. This complex, painful surgery has a six-month recovery and would require a feeding tube.Given Audi's age, his vet suggests monitoring the tumor instead of surgery, which could weaken him considerably.
