A fluffy and gentle 3 year old male American shorthair cat was presented for inappetence. The caregiver mentioned he noticed a mild weight loss the past few weeks.
A comprehensive blood test and a pancreatic function test revealed changes to the kidney parameters and an abnormal reading of pancreatic lipase. As he was rather young, we suggested an abdominal ultrasound. Both kidneys were grossly enlarged, a poorly defined corticomedullary, and anechoic rim around the kidneys. A tentative diagnosis of lymphoma was made. A biopsy sample was taken under ultrasound guided assistance. The pathology report confirmed a high grade lymphoma๐Ÿ˜ข

Sometimes coupling a blood test with an abdominal ultrasound scan will provide insights to underlying pathologiesโ€ฆ
