You’re not seeing double, but the Largescale Four-eyes is!
With its bulging eyes viewing above and below the waterline simultaneously, the nickname “four-eyes” fits—though it’s not entirely accurate. This fish only has two eyes, each split by a band of tissue into upper and lower sections, with separate corneas and pupils to process light from both realms. This adaptation helps Four-eyes hunt aquatic and terrestrial prey while evading predators. Talk about the best of both worlds!
This giant livebearer (up to 30 cm!) inhabits the coastlines of Trinidad and northern South America. It thrives in brackish mangroves and estuaries, but can also survive temporarily in freshwater creeks and rivers.

We have two species of these imposter gars that came in today. Tetras really do evolve into literally anything nowadays!
The Gar-characin is a giant type of predatory tetra, which behaves not too differently from the prehistoric fish of North and Central America. They do not mix well with overly aggressive fish, but they can also swallow fish up to half their total length, and anything that is the same girth as them is fair game. Keep this in mind!

The closest thing you can get to owning a freshwater shark, these cruising catfish are back! The Bornean Shark Catfish is a great choice for the monster setup. Despite being a giant catfish, these are relatively peaceful animals, and will usually choose to take flight when confronted, rather than fight.
We have some good-sized animals for you to choose from, come see them for yourselves!
