❌ Why we dislike retractable leashes 🙅🏻‍♀️
They are problematic because they offer less control, increase the risk of injury and entanglement, and can cause stress or conflict, especially in a busy clinic environment.

Fixed length leashes are always the preferred leash for safety anywhere. 🦮

Early intervention and prevention is always the best option to protect your pet’s teeth.

This is a Grade 2 (Moderate Periodontal Disease) out of 4. With 4 being the worst!
This would be the good time to do dental scaling to maintain a healthy mouth as bacteria has not spread beyond the gum line and are still somewhat still healthy.

If the bacteria spreads further in the gums and roots of teeth, tooth extractions may be the only option to maintain a healthy mouth. Not to mention, the added costs and recovery period for your pet.

We highly recommend getting your pet’s mouth checked during your vet visits to ensure that everything is in order.
