How’s your pet shaping up?

🔍 Can you feel their ribs easily?
👀 Is there a visible waistline from above?
⬆️ Do you see an abdominal tuck from the side?

Here’s a quick guide:
1. Very Thin: Ribs, backbone, and pelvic bones are prominent, with little to no fat covering. The waistline is dramatically defined, and the tummy shows a severe abdominal tuck.
2. Underweight: Ribs are easily felt and slightly visible with minimal fat covering. The waistline and tummy tuck are sharply defined.
3. Ideal: Ribs can be felt through a thin layer of fat. The waistline and tummy tuck are visible, with smooth, gradual curves.
4. Overweight: Ribs are covered with a thick fat layer, requiring finger pressure to feel. The waistline is not apparent, with a slight tummy tuck.
5. Obese: Ribs can’t be felt under a thick fat layer. The abdomen is distended and hangs down, while the waistline bulges outward.

Maintaining a healthy body condition is essential for supporting your pet’s mobility and long-term well-being. If you’re unsure where they stand, or if they’re outside the ideal range, be sure to consult your vet for expert guidance!

Still have your Christmas decorations up? 🎄

Keep pets safe by removing tinsel and ribbons, as they can be tempting for pets to play with and chew on, risking intestinal blockages. Secure your tree and ornaments to prevent accidents, and tuck away wires to avoid chewing hazards. And don’t forget to keep your phone out of their reach and mischief! 😹

Brushing your pet’s teeth is a great start to maintaining their oral health! Dr. Danielle Fitchett is here to spill the teeth (pun intended!) on why home dental care and professional dental cleanings are essential for your pet.

While brushing helps control plaque on the surface, only professional cleanings can remove tartar buildup below the gumline. Together, they help keep bad breath, plaque, and gum disease at bay. 🦷

And the best part? Our dental promotion is back by popular demand! Get 25% off our comprehensive dental package, which includes a veterinary consultation, general anaesthesia, X-rays, scaling, and polishing. Available at Mount Pleasant Gelenggang and Farrer branches.

Don't miss out! Book your appointment now and keep your pet's smile shining bright! 🐶🐱
