WEG Highlightsโจ
Caroline Chew, our first equestrian athlete to qualify for the Olympics in Tokyo 2020 (2021) will be representing Singapore with her horse, Tribani (aka Joey) at her 2nd appearance at the WEG (World Championships)! We wish her all the best for her performance in Denmark and will be cheering for her all the way from Singapore ๐ธ๐ฌ
We're very pleased to announce that equine soft tissue specialist, Christian Langeder, will be back in Singapore to conduct sessions!
From helping horses with muscle soreness, to educating a wide audience about being able to assess and treat soreness in their horses themselves, Christian will be in Singapore to both treat horses and conduct demonstration sessions. If you're interested or have any questions, do feel free to drop an email to [email protected]. Weโre looking forward to hearing from you ๐
Welcome back to our OTTB series! Everyone, meet Gold Crown ๐
Crown has been at the NEC since 2020, and has shown lots of potential as a good show-jumper since retiring from his racing days. A very honest horse who tries his heart out, Crown has done well at several interclub showjumping competitions, and even participated in the National Jumping Championships this year!
Heโs also known to have several quirks (as shown in the video ๐คช) but we think that does make him even more lovable ๐ฅฐ
Featuring riders: Aleksandra Kupiec, Francesca LโOrange and Dawn Wong.
Great job to our NEC riders who participated in the National Dressage Championships 2022!
The three combinations from NEC were our very own instructor, Danial Sadely riding Sir Isaac, Lauren Koh riding Mighty Emperor and Mairi Kants riding Stoneleigh Eddie. Congratulations on your successful rides in the NDC! One would never have imagined that both Sir Isaac and Mighty Emperor are Off-The-Track-Thoroughbreds, being excellent examples of how ex-racehorses can be just as successful at their second careers ๐คฉ
A big thank you also goes out to the NEC Team for making this possible. The instructors, grooms and administrative team all contributed to this accomplishment.
Thank you @singaporepoloclub for hosting NDC 2022, and we hope to see everyone at next yearโs Championships!

Here's a bit of a #throwback to one of our previous shows!
We're immensely excited to announce that we will be hosting our first Jumping Training Show AND first inter-club Dressage Show of 2022 ๐๐ผ After a long period of being unable to host many shows due to Social Distancing Measures being in place, we're really looking forward to kicking off the show season again.
Please kindly note that no spectators will be allowed at the competition venue due to social distancing. We seek your kind understanding in this matter!
All the best to everyone competing๐
The first iteration of the FEI Level 1 Coaching Course came to a close last Friday. A big congratulations to all who participated in the course!
You may be curious about what our participants found to be the most useful aspect of the course, and here is just a short clip of each of them speaking about what they found most meaningful.
Perhaps a huge theme of the course was related to how one ensures that they are being a coach, and not just a teacher. Even if youโre not aiming to become a coach in the future, this could be of interest to any rider looking to know if their current lessons are helping them progress.
If you feel that your lessons are two-way, and are a constant, ongoing discussion between you and your coach, that is indeed a good sign that your lessons are a great fit for you! Teaching, instead of coaching, on the other hand, is a one-way process that does not necessarily constitute a discussion between coach and rider.
Even though it is important to feel like you are being coached, instead of just being taught in lessons, most importantly, it is important to recognise that there is no necessary cookie-cutter model of how a coach should look like. At the end of the day, a coach should be someone who is not only knowledgeable about horses, but someone you feel comfortable giving feedback to as well.
More educational posts will be coming your way in the future โ watch this space!
Youโve heard of the Avengers. Youโve heard about Suicide Squad. But have you heard of NECโs OTTB gang?๏ฟฝ
A very dynamic and endearing bunch, the 9 ex-racehorses at NEC have brought much joy to many of our school riders and even staff. Each of them have their own personalities, strengths and quirks, and they all add another dimension to the NEC riding school.
From flying across jump courses, to winning dressage shows, each of our OTTBs have taken to their new lives incredibly well and have demonstrated much talent and willingness to learn. But most of all, weโre glad that each of these horses have had a second chance at building their new careers, and weโre so excited to showcase what weโve been up to in the next few weeks!
Can you guess who was the first addition to our OTTB gang? ๐
