🔊 STANDBY DOG BLOOD DONOR FOR HEI ZUI NEEDED 🔊

Hei Zui needs help. Her irregular appetite prompted a vet visit that revealed she has 3 types of tick infection, kidney issues and severe anemia 😟

While we are hoping medications will help, we still need blood donors on standby for our Hei Zui.

Bood donor criteria:
• Above 25kg
• 1-8 years old
• Up to date on vaccinations
• On heartworm and tick fever prevention
• No underlying health issues, not on medication
• No previous transfusion

Our rescue kitties are very low on canned wet food 😿😿😿 We go through 6 cartons of wet food a day for our 200 kitties 😭 Please donate towards their food, if you can🙏🏽💛

Armstrong is our dear gentle giant. A lump on his rump has led to the very sad discovery of a soft tissue sarcoma. He underwent a surgery to remove the lump, assumed benign, but was determined otherwise and has recurred after about two months. After getting a CT scan and seeking a specialist's opinion, we have been advised that Armstrong will need a series of tests and surgeries to try to save his life.

We are running low on old newspapers for our cats litter trays 📰😪Newspapers are so very important to keep our kitties clean and comfortable. Will you donate any newspapers to us?

Here's how you can help if you have your own transport (*preferred):

*1. Where to dropoff donated newspapers: 59 Sungei Tengah Rd, Blk Q, #01-29, S699014. Please leave the newspapers outside our unit and, if possible, include a note 'Donation for Animal Lovers League'

*2. What day/time to dropoff: Any day (weekend/weekdays/public hols). Best to dropoff any time between 7am and 7pm.

3. If you have newspapers to donate but do not have transport, please send us a picture of the amount of newspapers you have, your address and handphone number. This will help us assess if we have the volunteer manpower to pick the newspapers up, and if so, we can contact you and arrange for pick up easily. Your details will not be used for anything other than for contacting you regarding our request for newspapers.

*UPDATE ON ASHLEY, 26 MARCH 2024*
LAST DAYS OF ASHLEY

In our last update, we shared that Ashley's condition had been declining due to severe bladder issues stemming from infection and blockage culminating in urinary retention resulting in catheterisation.

Since then, everyday was daunting for Ashley. On top of the already distressing bladder issues came further abdominal blockages from foreign body ingestion. Ashley had to undergo emergency surgery to extricate the foreign bodies and to alleviate gas and fluid turgidity in her abdomen and bladder yesterday.

Ashley, was first diagnosed with a spinal condition last year, inability to walk and with ataxia. With her doggy temerity, she regained most of her ability to ambulate with remedial support from hydro and physical therapy within a few months. We were all in with her fight to recovery and the eventuality, this differential that her life succumbed to.

With deep sadness, we are heartbroken to share that our Dear Ashley passed this morning after a gruelling operation at the Vets though her composure and mentation were improving!
She fought a very hard battle with gusto to live. Rest in peace, Ashley 😔🙏🏽

Please help us close this chapter of Ashley's battle -- Please donate towards her medical bills that have risen sharply over the past few weeks. Thank you all, please say a prayer for Ashley today. 🤍🕊

Ashley is our rescued dog who suddenly lost function of her hind legs in early-2023. She would move around using only her front legs, dragging her back legs on the ground. After much rehabilitation, veterinary care and hydro- theraphy, she was well on the road to recovery and regained use of her hind legs in late-2023. We were so heartened by her tenacity to live!

However, Ashley's case has taken a turn for the worse as her condition has caused her bladder to be twisted causing urinary retention. With multiple surgeries and procedures to correct this, she remains alert, energetic and bright. This girl really wants to live! There continues to be many vet visits, urinary catheterisations, prescription food and surgery for Ashley -- we will continue to fight alongside her.
