Rahula Felv Sanctuary Meatloaf cremation has been completed.
Loving memories of this sweet little boy. We have not been able to take a proper photo of him. When he sees his papa, he makes a dash towards him and must hug him all the time. Also a cute loving little brother to the other cats.
We don't know how FeLV will affect a cat. We also do not know when it will turn progressive of when it will invade the bone marrow.
We have no control over these issues.
But what we can do is to make sure that every day is a happy day for them. Make them feel happy and loved. Let them know how precious they are.

Meatloaf was very lucky to meet his rescuer, who made every effort to test check the FeLV status hopinnf it would be a false positive. And his foster who showered him with love.

Their loving touch made Meatloaf a cheerful, happy little boy. And he in turn showers everyone around him with love and affection.
What an amazing precious little boy!

This is a very special moment for us.
7 months after Asher arrived, he finally allowed us to hug him and give him the first kiss.
No dog wants to be standoffish or be wary most of the time.
When that happens, it is usually a means of self-protection from previous trauma. The only solution is to give him love, assurances, and the space to settle down.
That is why very excited to share this historical moment with everyone.

Lots of love.
Hissy on the right has stage 2 cancer but luckily, it has not spread. Her rescuers quickly arranged for the surgery, She is also FIV+, so we adopted her to manage her health and to protect her from being exposed to chemicals that can increase cancer risk.
On the left is Joan. When rescued, she had a lump, so we quickly arranged for surgery. The biopsy indicated it as stage 1 cancer but not spread. Joan has a cleft palate and the previous surgeries were not successful. she is on tube feed and another surgery is scheduled for march. We hope it will be successful so that the tube feed can be removed.

Rahula Felv Sanctuary Today, sadly baby Meat loaf passed away.
He is such a happy boy and brought lots of love and happiness to everyone around him. We always hope that they can suppress the virus for a while because they are detected so early, before any symptoms. Unfortunately, most young cats don't survive beyond 3 years. With FeLV cars, we accept that they can and will leave anytime. Our focus is on making them happy every day. In meatloaf's case, while we try to make him feel loved and happy, he showered us with much love and affection. Every time we see him he will run over for a hug.

How time flies! Rahula Felv Sanctuary is 5yo!
We have adopted 42 FeLV cats. Currently, we have 8 residents in the sanctuary. All inspired by our first FeLV cat Rahula!
FeLV cats can enjoy a good quality life if they are given care and love. It is a joy to see them being happy and enjoying their lives!

Pepper passed away very early this morning.
Her body temperature was very low at the vet, so it was not a good sign. In fact a sign of shutting down.
She had enjoyed meeting her new siblings and even had dog and rabbit siblings. When Asher was not well, she went to keep Asher company.
Very sweet, kind and adorable baby. We are glad to have been able to look after her in the last few months of her life.

Today, we had a vet slot for Meatloaf from Rahula Felv Sanctuary
But as we were about to go, we noticed pepper had an eye infection, so we took her there instead.
Unfortunately, the vet suspects there is a growth on her liver.
His temperature is low so the outlook is not too good.
We got her a hot water bag to keep her warm and subcut her.

Today, we welcomed Mimi to the Rahula Felv Sanctuary
FeLV cats can be very fragile but if they have the care, they can still enjoy a happy and good quality even if short life.
We are added by Harold's departure but feeling sad does not change anything.
The best way to remember and honour those who left is to welcome another FeLV cat in their memory.
We cannot save all, but we try to save as many as we can.

Rahula Felv Sanctuary Harold passed away this morning. It was very and he left very peacefully.
Harold is FIV & FeLV+ and with heart failure.
When he first arrived, we were rather worried if he would let us medicate him. When his PCR results was out, he was PCR + for FeLv and we introduced him to his siblings.
Meatloaf, Shaloh, Shalom and later Bubbles loved him. Harold discovered his was always the center of attention and the little ones are all so found of him. That made Harold very happy and he allowed us to medicate him.
Ladt night, when we medicated him, we were telling him how sweet and special he is and what a cool big brother he is.
With Harold's condition, it was essential for palliative care. But he lasted much longer than expected and when he left, it was fast and peaceful. We miss him and he is also badly missed by his siblings.

Very important announcement!!!
Today, for the first time ever, Asher allowed his papa to hug him.
7 months after he arrived!
He still has the "hey what are you doing look".
But at least he did not move away. It is such a happy moment.

We want Asher to know that everyone loves him. He is still on antibiotics and we will do a follow up check to make sure he is ok. His lymph nodes are swollen so we are worried.

Rahula Felv Sanctuary Today, we welcome Melissa to the sanctuary.
Our first rescue of 2025.
She is a very sweet girl and has progressive FeLV.
In the sanctuary, there are a few cats of the same age so she will have very cute and loving siblings to play with.

Yesterday, Joan was discharged. Her feeding tube has been changed and she has medication for her eye infection.
Unfortunately, her cleft has another opening. We are waiting for her next surgery date and this time we hope everything goes ok.
She is comfortable and we need to tubefeed her and to make sure she do not eat through her mouth in case the food gets stuck in her nascal cavity again.

This is Rabbit when he was rescued and almost killed, him 6 mths later and him as a model on Gold-D Salmon.
We feature our resues as models to promotion adoption.
It does not matter how bad they look when rescued. Love changes everything!

How amazing! 10 years ago today, Jonah came to us!
He was abandoned and someone was about to call for him to be rounded up.
He became the model of Gold-D Trout kibbles!
You can see him posing with the food.
Jonah has also become a very caring big brother. He would know when they are not well and Jonah will sit by them and watch over them! Very proud of this very sweet caring boy!

The local sheters use it to protect the rescued cats and dogs to protect them from fleas and ticks. tick fever etc.
