I am heartbroken to inform that Blankie has passed away on 16/12/24 at 12:16am (coincidentally it’s my wedding anniversary). Having both dogs passed away a month of each other, the devastation and desperation that I felt is beyond

Blankie is the black dog on Doggie Retreat’s logo and now both dogs are reunited. Blankie wasn’t just the face of Doggie Retreat—she IS Doggie Retreat. Blankie was with me from the very beginning, and I honestly don’t know how to put into words just how special she was.

Blankie wasn’t just smart; she was intensely smart and so incredibly sensitive. When I first started Doggie Retreat, she became my right hand man. She helped me screen the dogs—if Blankie didn’t approve of a dog, I knew they’d be a troublemaker. She kept the peace, always watching to make sure no one was disturbing or hu***ng another dog, and if a dog tried to destroy the furniture? Blankie was on it. She was the boss, and she made sure everything ran smoothly.

But she wasn’t just a protector—she was also so motherly. Blankie helped raise and nurture so many young Singapore Specials over the years.

Blankie was a hero in so many ways. She even donated blood twice in her life to save other dogs. We had blood ready for her this time, but I made the heartbreaking decision not to transfuse her again. I know in my heart that Blankie would have wanted the blood to go to another dog who needed it more. That’s just who she was—selfless, brave, and full of love. She truly fought till the last second.

My heart is shattered, but I know she will watch over us just like she always did. Thank you for everything, Blankie. You were my partner, my protector, and my heart. I love you forever. Rest easy my sweet girl. You took a piece of me with you. 💔

Today, we honour Pillow, the beautiful white dog who’s not only the face of Doggie Retreat’s logo but has been its very heart and soul. She left us on Sunday night, and although she lived a wonderful 14 years, her passing came as a shock. Pillow was so full of life that it felt like she’d be with us forever.

Pillow was a one-of-a-kind spirit, with a spark that made her unforgettable. She was cheeky, sassy, and unapologetically herself—a true diva. She never acted her age and could still be found chasing the younger boys at daycare, always a playful flirt. Her favorite these days was Barry, who somehow brought out her inner puppy, making her prance and spin like she was young again. Watching her chase and tease him filled our hearts with joy. We’d see her prance around with pride, like she knew she was the queen of Doggie Retreat, and in many ways, she was.

Today, we imagine her in her own doggie paradise, leading the Doggie Retreat pack, her spirit as bright and cheeky as ever. Rest well, sweet Pillow. You’ll always be in our hearts, forever watching over us as the face and soul of Doggie Retreat. Thank you for all the love and laughter—you’ll never be forgotten.

I think not many are aware that Doggie Retreat has a pair of foster dogs. And yesterday, we say goodbye to one of them, Junior, a dog who, in his own quiet way, touched the hearts of everyone at Doggie Retreat. For the last 5 to 6 years, Junior and his twin brother Scooby were more than just our fosters—they became part of our family. Junior was the kind of dog you couldn’t help but love. He always had this worried look on his face, like the world was too much for him, but beneath that was a sweet, silly boy who had so much love to give.

It’s hard to believe that just yesterday, Junior was playing, full of life, only for him to leave us so suddenly. His passing came without warning, and it’s a reminder of how fragile life can be. One moment he was running around, and the next, he was gone—likely from a heart attack. He was only 10, still young by many standards, but life doesn’t always give us the time we expect.

Junior wasn’t a dog who sought attention or demanded much. He was gentle, quietly affectionate, and always there—never far from Scooby’s side. They’ve never been apart for more than half a day, and now Scooby has to navigate the world without his other half. It’s heartbreaking to think of the sadness Scooby must feel, and all we want now is to find him a loving home, where he can receive the full attention he deserves in his golden years.

Junior may have had his nervous quirks, but he was so much more than that. He had a way of making us smile with his little moments of silliness and sweetness. He didn’t need to be the loudest in the room to leave an impact—his gentle presence was enough. And now, as we grieve, we remember all those quiet, beautiful moments that made him so special to us.

Rest easy, sweet Junior. We’ll take care of Scooby for you, and we’ll never forget the love you brought into our lives. Remember you have a family in Doggie Retreat and the team loves you so so much. 💔🌈😭
