This is the story behind my breeding and my R-2 litter summarizes all my aspirations, ambitions and dreams as a breeder to breed the perfect collie.
Each breeder has its own motivations that makes him chose the breed they want to breed and what are their dreams and goals.
I was NEVER a Lassie fan (never really saw to movie) .. but in 2002 we here building our Golden Ranch and my sons were babies. At that time my husband was a GSD lover/trainer and I also had my Lex. Very sweet boy but not really a pet as he was very dominant and hated other dogs so I was all the time at the vet 🙂
I needed to find a breed that is active, sweet, great with children and love life at the ranch and that had long coat as my dream breed were afghans 🙂 I
Somebody advised me collies. In Slovenia in 2004 there were not many collie breeders. I found 2 young breeders that just had a litter and I found my Aisha... Just a very sweet girl but too shy. That was the trigger for me to decide I wanted to breed a true collie. Started to surf on the internet and I found collies were really popular in France and their breeding committee worked a lot on the temperament but the type was not really close to the standard. I bought 3 collies but our breeding Committee blocked them from breeding as they said I will destroy the breed in Slovenia.
So I stated with my mission ..breeding a collie true to the type with a great temperament. Bought a very nice classic bitch from Hungary, then 3 amazing Wicani dogs from UK, some nice dogs from Poland, Austria, Hungary even Australia and here we are 17 years later.
The pedigree of my R-2 litter contains until the 5th generations all the dogs that I bred or owned. The litter is linebred to my 2 favorite dogs my Moon-Multi, Int Ch Wicani Touched by a dream and Legend-Multi, Int Ch Steadwyn Blue Legend. For me it's essential that BOTH parent grow up and live at our ranch as both parents give more that 70% of their temperament, breeding stamina, looks to the puppies. My studs are all homebred or bought as puppies as choosing a champion you don't know the line is not a recipe for success.
After breeding 5 generations I see how much you can see the whole line in each and every puppy.
So here they are our 9 amazing miracles out of my golden boy Ray- #1 Top collie 24. Multi Ch Magnifique of the Holy Mountain (Top Gun of the Holy Mountain x Quel Bijou of the Holy Mountain) and my Koukla-Ch-J-Slo Valse de Minuit of the Holy Mountain (Next Rising Star of the Holy Mountain x Ch-J-Slo One True Legend of the Holy Mountain). We have 5 sable boys (2 wf), 1 tri boy, 1 sable girl, 2 tri girls, 1 a copy of her granny Bijou-Quel Bijou Of the Holy Mountain.
