One of the goals that we have set for 2024 was to develop an ADVENTURE DOG online training course: expert-led training to help you and your dog explore the outdoors safely, with the aim of creating a great bond along the way. 🙂
Based on your inputs, we have developed these four 6-week online dog training courses:
- Skiing with dogs (as soon as we get some snow*)
- Hiking with dogs
- Mountain biking with dogs
- Stand-up paddling with dogs
All courses are based on our own first-hand experience with training our own dogs for these activities (with all the mistakes we made, so that you won´t make them). Link to all courses: https://www.lyodog.com/dogtraining/
All dog training courses will be happening online in 2025, as a mixture of pre-recorded lessons, live lessons, Q&A sessions and personalized consultations for each participant (depending on your previous experience, specific goals, etc.).
At the moment all courses still require you to answer some questions and sign up for the waiting list, so that we will be able to notify you about start dates. If you wish to reserve your spot, you can of course pay the fee. We hope to see you soon!

Just like humans, dogs have different tolerances to the cold, and this varies based on several factors, such as breed, age, size, coat type, and overall health. While dogs may try to signal when they are too cold, it can be difficult to read their body language. Here are some key signs to look out for that indicate your dog may be too cold:
- Shivering or Trembling: Just like humans, dogs shiver to try to generate warmth. If your dog is shivering, it’s a sign that their body is struggling to stay warm.
- Limping or Holding Up Paws: Dogs may lift their paws off the ground or start limping due to cold surfaces, ice, or snow that irritates their pads. This could also indicate frostbite.
- Huddling or Seeking Shelter: If your dog is trying to find shelter or cuddling up in a warm spot, it’s a clear sign that they’re feeling the cold.
- Excessive Licking of Paws: Cold weather can irritate a dog’s paws, and licking can be a sign that their paws are cold or uncomfortable.
- Behavioural Changes: A dog that’s usually energetic but suddenly seems lethargic or unwilling to go outside may be experiencing cold-related discomfort.
- Blue or Pale Gums: In severe cases of hypothermia or frostbite, a dog’s gums may turn blue or pale. This is a serious warning sign that requires immediate veterinary attention.

What are “Green tripe”?
Basically, this is cow´s stomach in raw (or air dried) form. The “green” in the name just means that they have not been processed – no cleaning, no bleaching, no cooking. There are several protein bars already available on the market, but as always, our super allergic dog Ozzy cannot eat them, because they are all filled with secret and not-so-secret ingredients that he cannot consume (to be honest, some of these bars contain ingredients that are not suitable for dogs at all, no matter if a dog has allergies or food sensitivities).

We have been working on this product since the very beginning and we now have several recipes that are “ready to go”. Winter evening hikes have a special vibe, especially when there’s snow and nobody else around. If only we could prohibit firecrackers altogether, that would be awesome - and then we would be able to walk our dogs also in more populated areas 👌 it would be great if people would be more considerate and think about their surroundings and how their actions affect others … Sofar we are lucky that our dogs don’t care about loud noises, but hey, they bother us, humans. And the stupidity of loud *bang* that is fun for someone is just baffling to me. I will never understand that. I wish for all of you to survive these last few days before the new year as peacefully as possible 🤞❤️

Best Barf snacks are made from different types of meat and organs, which are freeze-dried raw, without any kind of additives. You can use them for dog training or as a part of your dog´s raw BARF diet.

(*freeze dried raw: raw meat is first frozen, after that all the moisture is removed in a very long process that lasts about 48 hours. The goal of removing moisture is to preserve the raw meat in a more practical form (for dog training, etc.), but containing all nutritional value, since the meat is never warmed up. This way the meat is dry, light and with a very intense flavour. It is still very crucial to replace the missing water, so you should have fresh water available for your dog after such a meal).
