Bella deserves a family!

Bella was dumped by her family when she was pregnant. Like too many Thai dogs, Bella was simply thrown away and abandoned when she was about to have puppies 💜

Luckily, Bella was fed by a local animal lover, and after her puppies were taken in by another organisation, we realised Bella needed spaying to keep her safe from social conflict and disease. After her spay, it was made clear that Bella would only be safe with us and we're so happy with her progress! 🐾

Bella has gone from scared and wary to relaxed and social. However, this beautiful girl is still looking for her furever home and we can't understand why! Bella is unique looking with her glassy amber eyes and her three o'clock ears, plus she has a calm, happy personality. Bella loves to bake herself in the sunshine and nowadays she plays rough and tumble with Bear, one of the 3 dogs she lives with 💜

Gorgeous Mary is looking for a home!

This little sweety came to us on Christmas Eve. She was rescued, pink and hairless, from a busy path where she was almost kicked and stepped on by shoppers 💜

Mary grew quickly and we gushed as her white hair grew back thick and healthy. She soon had strength and energy, and lots of puppy friends to play with! 🐾

Mary is a little more grown up at almost 3 years old now but she's still active and playful, loves her cuddles, and brings any visitors a select gift of a stick or a really nice rock when you visit her pen 🎁

When Sandy arrived to our sanctuary he was dumped, almost lifeless, outside the gate and left to be attacked by neighbouring street dogs. Denise herself fended off the attackers and quickly called her staff to carry poor Sandy inside. Sandy had no will left to live, and simply laid screaming as he was attacked. 💜

Sandy was emaciated and full of anxiety. You can see how skinny he was in the middle photos but it's ok, he's healthy now and his anxiety is eased (though he still paces a lot). He finds great therapy in his puppy playmates and is affectionate with all the humans he meets. He also has tiny little ears - did you see them?! Sandy has even beaten cancer during his time with us so he really is a special, strong boy 🙏

Who can volunteer in Thailand? Well, more people than you might think!

We're a small dog sanctuary and clinic in rural Thailand. We rely on kind hearted volunteers to walk, feed, and play with our dogs, and if course we are always desperate for vets to run our donation-funded clinic. But, this isn't all we need... 💜

We also welcome anyone with a special skill or interest. Obvious matches would include dog behaviourists or dog groomers, but we also welcome builders, welders, and painters that can improve our sanctuary and build a better home for dogs (or make things easier for our staff!). We also love photographers, video creators, or content creators who can help show off what we do 📸🐕

Brighton, one of our most recent rescues, was found on the main highway, scavenging. His appearance was shocking. He was barely more than bones, with sporadic clumps of fur hanging on amongst the mange and parasites 💪🏼

But Brighton’s heart was still beating and his spirit still had some fight left, somehow. We whisked Brighton to our sanctuary and treated him in our clinic with medicinal baths, parasite medication, and of course warm and nourishing food 💊

Sanctuaries are built for dogs like Brighton. These days he is almost fully healed, sleeping peacefully without fear and worry, and he’s finally having regular and plentiful meals to nourish him. Brighton had blossomed and is fun and friendly with our staff and slowly making friends with other sanctuary wuffs 🐕

Charlie's story goes from a sad tale to a happy tail!

Charlie was fighting for his life near a local riverside spot. Despite living next to a restaurant, Charlie was underweight, shunned by people feasting. Charlie was also ravaged my mange, covered in sores and open wounds 🐾

Now, Charlie is doing amazing! He's sweet and full of life and his personality is blossoming. Charlie's rescue was thanks to the kindness of you, our treasured supporters! 🙏🏼

It's raining treats!!

Look at lovely Brighton and Charlie, our two newest rescues that arrived hairless and sore and severely under eight. They are now handsome and hairy and enjoying a tasty snack, just as they should be! 🐾

We sympathise with our pups, being in a pen most of the day, so we try to do something special as often as we can. This week it was yummy pig's ears for them to chew on and lick, which are both soothing and natural behaviours for dogs 🐶

Meet Jenny!

Jenny joined our family alongside Billiam as they were best buddies at a local temple. Sadly, the pair were ostrised by the many other dogs there and found it difficult to access food and shelter 🐾

We found this pair at the start of Monsoon season, wet and shivering, sharing but one plastic chair and a makeshift cover for little more than their heads 🥺

Since moving in, Jenny has absolutely blossomed! She's barely made a bark and is just amazingly chill. She spends a lot of time lounging and playing, content that she can trust her next meal is never far away 💜

Jenny is a heart-melter for sure and she folds into you if you join her for a quick cuddle, making it very hard to leave! So much love and joy for one young girl! She is also vaccinated and spayed and we're hopeful she'll find a family sooner rather than later 🤞

William is one of our most photogenic pups! 🐶

This handsome boy is nothing but sweetness and has the biggest, goofiest smile we've seen! Super playful and happy to greet any humans with cuddles and kisses, it's obvious that William is happy to be a sanctuary dog 💜

He came in a pair from a local temple that was overun with animals and he was bullied away from food and shelter. He shared a plastic chair for cover with his best friend Jenny... something that's more heartbreaking as the rain is pours during Monsoon Season ⛈️

William is a gentle young man and goes with the flow around the sanctuary, content to play with his penmate and bestie from the temple, Jenny. William would fit into any kind of family as he's so happy go lucky and relaxed! 🐾

Ivy is a beacon of love that reminds us why we do what we do 💪🏼

Ivy came to us, nervous and unsure of the world around her. Despite her bully-breed look, Ivy is a sensitive soul and can always be seen quietly watching her ever changing surroundings. She's savvy and sweet, and although her love can be bought with treats, she's still learning how to be sure about us humans 💜

Ivy would thrive in a calmer family, although she never shies away from the action on our more hectic days. She's social and has easily made friends with our Breakfast Club pen consisting of nervous Walter, spaghetti leg Noelle, and prima donna Ping Ping. If she can thrive with the weird crowd, just imagine how healthy she'd be in your family! 🐾

Noelle needs a family!

Noelle is a beautiful little girl and so full of love to give. Noelle absolutely loves life; she's bright and playful and easy to take care of 🥰

Noelle is almost 3 years old now and is fully vaccinated and spayed already... Basically she's ready for her furever family, wherever they might live! 💜

Noelle has a special quirk that you see in her wobbly walk. Noelle was brought to us with an injury at just a few weeks old. Her brother Joe uses a wheelchair and her sister Peanut is perfectly healthy. Noelle is somewhere in between! Noelle is able to get herself around independently, walk on a leash of freey with no problem, and loves to play with her fellows pups, she just doesn't always run in a straight line! 🐾

Ping Ping was a street dog we found one year ago - around Chinese New Year - on another outreach mission. Ping Ping had a prolapse like we've never seen before (see. Blurred version in picture 2, or see more on her website page) and even our experienced vets could hardly believe she survived 🙏

Luckily, our team responded to this emergency case and after hours of surgery Ping Ping began her long journey to recovery. We are forever grateful to our supporters for their help during Ping Ping's treatment 💜

Ping Ping has blossomed in our sanctuary and loves to play with staff and visitors. We're happy to report She doesn't have health problems, but she may be prone to small prolapses, especially as she gets older. She shares her pen with Ivy, Noelle, and Walter and is an easy, content pup to care for! 🐾

Meet Walter!

Walter is a dog who is 100% scaredy cat! Walter had a rough start in life watching his mum and siblings die on the streets and he too getting hit by a car before being brought to us 💔

Walter is a sweet boy but still very much has his guard up and rarely approaches new volunteers, although this is slowly improving! for now, it's a fun game of chase or pretending to leave without him in order to get his lead on for his beloved daily walks! 🐾

There have been just a few volunteers who managed to befriend Walter send it warms our hearts to see him trust and follow whoever he becomes besotted with! For now, Walter will stay with us to keep building his sense of security and trust with humans, but we hope to see him adopted one day 😍

Meet Milka!

Milka - also known as Millie - is a funny and playful pup with a lot of love to give! She's patient and forgiving while we're busy, but is always down for playtime! Millie is relaxed and very trusting, meaning she enjoys all kinds of games 🐾

We estimate Millie to be around 2 years old but we don't think she'll grow much taller, although her fluffy coat is still expanding! Millie would be a fantastic family dog due to her great attitude, good behaviour, and adorable looks 💜

It's raining day and night here in Sangkhla and the temperature has dropped from around 30 to 25-28.. it's getting chilly! ⛈️

We've given our wuffs some extra plushy blankets to keep them cosy and warm through the rainy season. The frequent thunderstorms are also pretty scary for our pups so little comforts help them through 💜

Have you ever heard about Sangkhlaburi, Thailand?!

Sangkhlaburi is a relatively unknown part of thailand and maintains the traditional charm that has been altered by tourism in most of towns. Sangkhlaburi is in the large province of Kanchanaburi, but is a few hours away from the main part of the city and around 7 hours from Bangkok 🇹🇭

Sangkhlaburi is slow and peaceful, with little traffic and no shopping malls or night clubs. Instead we enjoy the simple pleasures in life like an abundance of seasonal fruit, the goregous river that is a main attraction here, and the Mon Wooden Bridge where the history of this town is palpable 🌉

We are a small dog sanctuary with 24 dogs and when we have a vet our donation based clinic offers hope to people and animals of the town. We always need helping hands for walking, feeding, and playtime! 💜

Bear is a serious contender for most handsome dog!

Bear has been with us since he was a tiny baby and boy has he grown! Bear joined us with his brother Teddy, who has now been adopted and lives in France. Bear was always the braver (and naughtier!) of the brothers, but thanks to his more mature pen mates he's now mellowed out 💜

Bear is neutered, fully vaccinated, and has heaps of personality. This handsome pup is energetic and would be amazing for an active family, but after his walks and some on/off playtime with his friends he's down to snooze. Bear demands cuddles whenever you visit his pen, and his golden eyes stare into yours like you're the love of his life! 😍

Neff and Tanguy came to us from another sanctuary that was struggling to give them a high quality of life. They arrived with great attitudes and loving smiles, and we're proud to say they're even happier everyday 💜🐕

Neff and Tanguy both loves their cuddles and Tangy especially will jump up and wrap his arms around you for a hug as often as he can. They are both playful, calm influences on their other penmates, and are great big brothers to naughty Bear 🐾🐶

Neff and Tanguy have lived together all their lives and are a bonded pair, meaning they would need to be adopted to the same home - twice the nice! Tanguy and Neff are fully vaccinated and neutered so easy to adopt. They're not puppies anymore so we're really hoping they can find a hike before they're too old to travel 🙏✈️

The rain is coming down strong now as we reach the peak of rainy season here in Sangkhlaburi, Thailand ⛈️

As you all know our roof reached a point of havoc. The leaks were so bad they disrupted surgeries, flooded volunteer rooms, and caused unexpected damage to our property. But now there is hope! 💜

You saw us fix our volunteer rooms to protect the stuff inside but more importantly, the lovely people that come to help, and now we are (getting) ready for the clinic by covering all our valuable equipment and medicine 💪🏼

It's green season...
..AKA the Rainy season or Monsoon season! These pictures are from the small moments of sunshine we get between showers as the rainy season reaches it's peak ⛈️

Here in Sangkhla it rains heavily from around June - October, although odd showers of rain start earlier and finish later in the year. Rainy season is less fun for our doggies, who can mostly be found napping lazily, in their beds until it's clear to walk again! 🐾

After the rainy season is the peak season for tourists as Thailand enjoys cooler weather of 25-30⁰ so... Get planning your trip now! ✈️🇹🇭

Meow! Here are some snaps of the cats we saw at our last trip to Children of the Forrest, a local children's home that has a lot of animals roaming the surrounding jungle 😻

These kitties have now been vaccinated to protect them from any nasties hiding in the jungle and to make the whole place that much safer for the cats, dogs, and children that share the beautiful land 🐾

We don't have cats inside the sanctuary, but our clinic regularly sterilises and treats cats. If you want to help, that would be purr-fect! 👇🏼

❗New Rescue❗ Look at this poor baby, who we estimate we only be 8 weeks old. Found near a highway between local villages this sweet soul has endured so much pain already 💜 Of course we've scooped him up and he's safe with us now. This small angel has a few health problems including mange and parasites, but hopefully we can fix him up. Joe went paddle boarding! We are always so filled with love and surprise to see the adventures our rescues get up to with their forever families 💜 Whio would have dreamed that little Joe, who was brought to us at just a few weeks old, disabled, with little use of his back legs, would one day be exploring Hua Hin and doing water sports?! 🐾 Ophelia was volunteering with us the day Joe arrived and was largely responsible for a lot of his care. Her dedication to physio therapy, cleaning and nurturing, and even facilitating extra vets trips to try everything to help Joe walk again was truly moving. Finally, this year Ophelia was ready to adopt Joe and what a beautiful family they make along with Ophy's boyfriend Chain 🥰 Adoption is just the beginning for our rescued dogs.
