On December 2, 2024, at 9:00 AM, Dr. Boonyagith Pinprasong, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Livestock Development, presided over the R-FETPV Scientific Conference. Dr. Komsan Rungreung, an expert in transboundary animal disease control, delivered the welcome remarks.
Held from December 2–4, the conference brought together trainees from countries across Asia-Pacific, including Indonesia, the Philippines, Nepal, Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand. Participants presented research on animal epidemiology and disease investigations, focusing on rabies and health issues in swine, poultry, ruminants, and aquatic animals.
Special lectures were given by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sonthaya Tiawsirisup (Chulalongkorn University) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teera Rukkwamsuk (Kasetsart University) on vector-borne diseases and hemorrhagic septicemia control.
This initiative, jointly organized by FAO and the Department of Livestock Development, aims to enhance sustainable epidemiological capacity in the Asia-Pacific region.
The event was held at Centara Grand Central Ladprao, Bangkok.
