🎉🐘 Celebrating National Elephant Day & Somboon Legacy Foundation's 6th Anniversary! 🐘🎉

Today is a special day as we celebrate Thailand's National Elephant Day, a day dedicated to honoring and recognizing the importance of elephants in Thai culture and the vital role they play in our natural heritage. Elephants are not only revered symbols of strength, grace, and wisdom, but they are also an essential part of Thailand's ecosystem and history.

On this wonderful occasion, we are also excited to commemorate the 6th anniversary of the Somboon Legacy Foundation, a milestone that marks six years of dedication to preserving these magnificent creatures and supporting their welfare.

Through years of hard work, compassion, and education, the Somboon Legacy Foundation has strived to improve the lives of elephants, promote sustainable tourism, and protect these majestic beings from harm. We couldn't be more proud of the progress we've made together, and none of this would have been possible without your ongoing support and love for elephants.

Here's to many more years of working together to create a brighter future for elephants in Thailand and beyond. Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey!

SOMBOON LEGACY

Sawasdee kha 🙏 and welcome to SOMBOON LEGACY FOUNDATION! We are a newly opened completely HANDS-OFF non-profit elephant sanctuary that is located 30 minutes outside of Kanchanaburi and approximately 3 hours from Bangkok. We take care of old, ill, handicapped and rescued elephants. Together with the Legacy River Kwai Resort, we create a space where our elephants can walk freely in nature and aren’t forced to participate in any activities that cause stress or harm to them.

Elephants are wild animals and not for our entertainment. Here at SOMBOON LEGACY FOUNDATION, we strongly believe in observing them in their natural habitat and respecting their personal space by not engaging in any physical contact. The well-being of our elephants Malee and Kammoon is our top priority. The sensitive old ladies are over 60 years old and have been a team for over 20 years, gently looking after each other. Somboon was the third of the “Three Musketeers” who passed away a few years back. In honour of her beautiful spirit, we dedicate this organization to her. It’s time to make a real change, we are going to make a difference! Visit our website for more information: www.somboonlegacy.org
