Penboon coats herself in mud before heading to her shelter.
Penboon, who was rescued during the COVID-19 crisis, endured a difficult life as a street performer, a show elephant, and later a riding elephant in Phuket. Being separated from her mother at a young age denied her the experience of living in a herd, relying heavily on humans instead. This has created a barrier to being able to fully integrate with other elephants.
Earning her trust and helping her open up to a herd takes time. However, Penboon now shows signs of being more relaxed and happier. We hope that one day, she will overcome the resistance created by her past and embrace her place within an elephant family.

พังเป็นบุญ ช้างที่ได้รับการช่วยเหลือในช่วงวิกฤติโควิด เคยผ่านชีวิตอันยากลำบากจากช้างเร่ ช้างโชว์ จนถึงช้างขี่ในภูเก็ต การถูกแยกจากแม่ตั้งแต่เด็กทำให้เธอไม่เคยอยู่ร่วมกับโขลง และพึ่งพามนุษย์เป็นหลัก ทำให้เธอยังมีกำแพงที่จะรวมโขลงกับช้างด้วยกัน
การให้แม่เป็นบุญเปิดใจยังต้องใช้เวลา แต่ในปัจจุบันนี้ พังเป็นบุญแสดงออกถึงความสุขและความผ่อนคลาย เราหวังว่าสักวันเธอจะก้าวผ่านอดีตและยอมรับชีวิตในโขลงช้างของเธอคะ

Gluay Hom spends each day joyfully exploring his home. Following the flood, immense amounts of sand and dirt were deposited, creating large mounds that have since transformed into playgrounds for him. Over time, these piles have become fertile grounds, offering new grasses and greenery that diversify his diet beyond the ordinary. Gluay Hom is a striking young bull, thriving freely and untouched by human ambition . If you understand his origins and the remarkable transformation he has undergone under our care, you'll surely appreciate that he needs this freedom to truly discover himself. May he always remain this confident and spirited soul.

This is the story of NamThip's remarkable journey. 💕
The photos chronicle her life path, beginning from the very day we rescued her. Upon her arrival, the SEF veterinary team promptly examined her to diagnose the root causes of her health issues.
NamThip was critically underweight, with a constantly twitching trunk, and she struggled with excretion, producing thick, cloudy urine. She also endured chronic eye inflammation. The dedicated veterinary team worked tirelessly on her treatment, and gradually, her health started to improve.
Initially, NamThip often slept during the day but was restless at night, making loud noises that disturbed the other elephants. To aid her adaptation, we introduced an elephant nanny and an adoptive mother to guide her and help adjust her behavior.
Today, NamThip has blossomed into the heart of her herd.
Surrounded by love, her family has expanded with new members. Although her physical and mental health has significantly improved, she still faces a long road to full recovery.
NamThip's story is a testament to the power of compassion and second chances. Helping elephants means offering them a better life, and NamThip has been blessed with that opportunity.
We extend our gratitude to everyone who has shown love and kindness to NamThip. We will continue to share updates on her journey of healing and growth.

Food Buckets Turned into Toys 😆
Feeding elephants every day involves providing a variety of food, including pellets and chopped fruits, which require sturdy containers that can withstand the strength of elephants.
Heavy-duty mortar tubs, advertised as being tough enough to withstand a ten-wheeler truck, are the perfect choice. Once the food is gone, these tubs become playful toys for mischievous little ones like Pyimai and Chaba. Despite all their fun and games, the tubs hold up well—just a few dents here and there—and can be reused again.
They sure did show this tub who’s boss though!

การให้อาหารช้างในทุกๆวันจะมีการให้อาหารหลายชนิดมาให้ช้าง อาหารเม็ด อาหารที่โม่จำเป็นต้องมีที่ใส่และวัสดุที่ใช้จะต้องแข็งแรงทนทานจากแรงของช้าง
ถังผสมปูนที่เขาโฆษณาว่ารถสิบล้อเหยียบไม่แตกนี่เหมาะสมที่สุด เอาถังมาใส่ให้กิน พออาหารหมด ที่ใส่อาหารกลายเป็นของเล่นของเด็กจอมซนอย่างน้องปีใหม่และน้องชบา แต่ถังเขาแข็งแรงจริงไม่แตกแค่บุบและสามารถนำกลับใช้ได้อีก 😊
