Chico and Panda, two of our adorable little ones, had a health check at FPHC today. We’re happy to share that apart from needing some dental care, both are in normal health overall. 👌

Chico is in good condition, but he has a significant buildup of tartar and some loose teeth. His blood test showed slightly elevated blood urea levels. It’s recommended that he undergo tartar scaling and have a few problematic teeth removed. We'll schedule him right away.

Panda is also in good health, with normal blood test results. She has only a small amount of tartar, so her dental scaling can be postponed for now.

This sweet and friendly pair are looking for a home together, as they are very bonded. 💕 If you're interested in adopting them, please send us a message!

Keb Tawan is scheduled for her CT scan tomorrow. We want to express our gratitude to everyone who donated to help make this possible. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to her!

🩺 In preparation, Keb Tawan had a chest X-ray today, and the results were normal. However, her blood test showed a moderately elevated white blood cell count and liver values. Despite this, her vet has confirmed that she is stable and cleared to proceed with the CT scan. Dr. New could open her jaw wider today compared with 1 week ago, so there's been a little improvement with medication.

We will keep you updated as we learn more. Please continue to keep Keb Tawan in your thoughts! ❤️‍🩹

👋 This week, we said farewell to Sam & Janna, who have been visiting us for the past few weeks. We’re always so grateful for our volunteers who generously give their time to help around our shelter and shower our dogs and cats with so much love and warmth. 🐾🐾 🐶 🐈 💕

😻 A huge thank you to Janna for transforming our cat room! She painted the walls and bought lots of fun climbing trees, shelves, and other structures for our cats to play, exercise, relax, and sleep on. 🐈‍⬛ We now have some very happy kitties! 🐈

🆘️ 𝗨𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗙𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗦𝗘𝗥 🆘️ 𝟭𝟱,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗧𝗛𝗕 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱!! การระดมทุนด่วน 15,000 บาท จำเป็น!!

We need your help to save Keb Tawan, one of our sweet shelter dogs, who has suddenly fallen seriously ill. For the past 7 days, she has been in hospital, unable to open her mouth due to an unknown condition. Prior to last week Keb Tawan showed no noticable signs of eating issues, muscle atrophy or any health problems, even though she may have had this issue for some time. However, now, she can only slightly extend her tongue, making it difficult for her to eat.

After an initial examination, the vet suspects that there might be an issue with Keb Tawan's jaw or a possible infection. She underwent X-rays, blood tests, and consultations with specialists, but the exact cause of her condition remains unclear. There is no indication of dislocation in the jaw, but swollen lymph nodes and an elevated white blood cell count suggest a potential infection. To get a clearer picture, the vet is recommending a CT scan which will help determine the root cause of her locked jaw and allow for a more targeted treatment plan. The CT scan could confirm a nerve issue, show a possible mass, and they can collect spinal fluid to test as well during the procedure.

🏥 The cost of the CT scan is 10,000-15,000 Baht. We need your support to raise these funds. Every donation will bring us one step closer to helping Keb Tawan get the diagnosis and treatment she desperately needs.

Keb Tawan returned to our shelter today. She is currently on medication to control the infection and inflammation in her muscles and nervous system, but we need to know exactly what is causing this condition to provide the best care moving forward.

These 5 month old brothers are loving, playful, outgoing, and well socialised with many humans and other dogs, both at our rescue shelter and in their initial foster home.

They love car travel and are leash trained too! 👍 Healthy, vaccinated, dewormed, and up to date on preventative medications. ✅️

We rescued them when they were just a few days old. Honey & Cinnamon’s lucky brother, Oats, is headed to Ireland soon! 🇮🇪 We really hope these two adorable boys will find their forever home soon too!

𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙋𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙚, 𝙋𝙖𝙠 🖤 ขอให้ปักไปสู่สุคติ
We are heartbroken to share that Pak has passed away. 😢

Pak was one of our longest shelter residents at LCA, having been with us for around 10 years. She had reached her senior years and lived with paralysis and leg deformities that gradually worsened due to an abnormal bone structure she was born with. Despite her challenges, she always had a smile on her face, and was always surrounded by love at our shelter. She lived in our main room and visiting area, where she was adored by everyone who met her. Our shelter will not be the same without seeing her there. 💔

Over the past few days, Pak’s condition worsened despite the best efforts of her medical team to manage her symptoms. While anti-nausea medication helped keep her comfortable, it became clear that her body was struggling. With tumors in both her chest and abdomen, there were no good treatment options left. 😔

This morning, Pak became very weak, then shortly after she passed away peacefully. She simply grew weaker and drifted away without pain or distress.

Pak was a gentle soul who was loved by many. She will be deeply missed. Run free, sweet girl. You were cherished. We will never forget you. ❤️

ปักเป็นหนึ่งในสุนัขที่อยู่ในศูนย์พักพิงของเรามานานที่สุดที่ LCA อยู่กับเรามากว่า 10 ปี เธอเข้าสู่ช่วงวัยชราและต้องเผชิญกับภาวะอัมพาตและปัญหาขาที่ค่อยๆ แย่ลงเนื่องจากความผิดปกติของกระดูกแต่กำเนิด แม้จะมีความท้าทายมากมาย แต่เธอยังคงยิ้มเสมอ และอยู่ท่ามกลางความรักจากทุกคนที่ศูนย์พักพิงของเรา เธออาศัยอยู่ในห้องหลักและพื้นที่ต้อนรับ ซึ่งทุกคนที่พบเจอรักเธอเป็นอย่างมาก ศูนย์พักพิงของเราคงจะไม่เหมือนเดิมหากไม่มีเธออยู่ที่นั่น 💔

ในช่วงไม่กี่วันที่ผ่านมา สภาพของปักแย่ลง แม้ว่าทีมแพทย์จะพยายามรักษาและจัดการกับอาการของเธออย่างดีที่สุดแล้วก็ตาม แม้ยาที่ใช้บรรเทาอาการคลื่นไส้จะช่วยให้เธอรู้สึกดีขึ้น แต่ก็เริ่มชัดเจนว่าร่างกายของเธอกำลังต่อสู้กับความเจ็บปวด จากก้อนเนื้อในบริเวณทรวงอกและท้อง ทำให้ไม่เหลือทางเลือกในการรักษาที่ดี 😔

เช้าวันนี้ ปักอ่อนแอลงมาก และไม่นานหลังจากนั้น เธอก็จากไปอย่างสงบ เธอค่อยๆ อ่อนแรงลงและจากไปโดยไม่รู้สึกเจ็บปวดหรือวิตกกังวล

ปักเป็นวิญญาณที่อ่อนโยนและได้รับความรักจากหลายๆ คน เธอจะถูกคิดถึงอย่างลึกซึ้ง วิ่งไปอย่างอิสระนะสาวน้อย เธอเป็นที่รัก เราจะไม่มีวันลืมเธอ ❤️

🏥 𝙐𝙥𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙤𝙣 𝙋𝙖𝙠
Pak has remained under close observation in hospital. While there have been some improvements, we are still very concerned about her overall condition.

Blood tests confirmed that she has kidney failure, anemia, and signs of liver and gallbladder inflammation. An ultrasound also revealed a suspicious mass near her adrenal gland, and an X-ray confirmed another mass in front of her heart. These could be tumors, but further testing is needed to understand their impact. Her vet’s focus has been stabilizing her body to prevent complications affecting her heart and brain.

Over the past few days, Pak has been eating and drinking, though she has had occasional vomiting. Today, she has not vomited and remains alert. Her kidney function has shown some improvement with treatment, which is a positive sign, but she is still anemic, meaning her body isn’t producing enough red blood cells.

The biggest concern remains the masses in her abdomen and chest, which could cause further deterioration. For now, Pak is holding steady, and we will continue monitoring her closely. Please keep her in your thoughts!

🙏 A huge thank you to Janna and Sam for visiting us last week and again this week, and for their generous donations! They enjoyed a full tour of our shelter and showered our dogs and cats with so much love. 🐕❤️🐶

This week, Janna also helped paint our cat room, which is now a lovely sage green color as part of our upcoming transformation project to make the space more fun and enjoyable for our cats. 😻🐈

💉🩸Last week, another 10 of our shelter dogs had their blood tested by our visiting vet. We’re happy to report that most of them had normal health results, while three are now being treated for blood parasite infections (Penny, Noo-ring, Law). Markey will continue his blood parasite and heart medications too. We’re hopeful they’ll make a full recovery soon! 🙏
