PhaNgan Animal Care Non-profit Animal Hospital for Stray Animals. Sterilisations, vaccinations and emergency care. PACS is 100% reliant on donations from the public.

Based in Wok Tum on Koh PhaNgan, PACS provides medical care to the stray, temple and wild animals of the island. We have a dedicated neutering and vaccination program carried out with the help of volunteer vets and vet nurses. PACS provides daily hospital care for many animals who require daily medication, and also out-patient care on "house-call days" where the nurse traverses the island attending to those who need less regular care/treatment.

🌧️ Monsoon Madness in February?! 🌧️

💦 Koh Phangan is seeing something truly unexpected—heavy monsoon rains in February.

😬 Streets are flooding, but the island has held strong. No power cuts this time, just relentless rain. But while the world slows down, PACS doesn’t.

⚡Through storms, through floods, through every challenge thrown our way—we keep going. Because for the strays who have no shelter, no safe place to curl up, we are their only chance. Their only hope.

😔 Right now, our clinic is overflowing. More rescues, more medical emergencies, more mouths to feed. The rain doesn’t stop, and neither do we. But we need your help.

Guess who’s back at PACS and absolutely smashing recovery? Our warrior girl, Panda! 💪🐶

After her surgery, she’s been healing up beautifully, getting all the love (and snacks!) she deserves. She’s wagging her tail extra hard to say THANK YOU to everyone who sent her love, support, and good vibes. 💙

But Panda wants you to know… she’s not the only one who’s been in an accident. 😔

Emergency Rescue – Meet Caadbury 🚨

This poor girl just came in with one of the worst skin conditions we've ever seen.

😭She’s raw, sore, and so terrified that even the gentlest touch makes her flinch. Her body is shutting down, her skin is cracked and bleeding, and she doesn’t understand that we’re here to help.

Catching her wasn’t easy—her brain is in survival mode, and her heart has been broken by a lifetime of suffering. But she’s safe now, and we’re doing everything we can to ease her pain and give her a second chance.

FOUND PUPPY – DOES ANYONE RECOGNIZE HIM? 🚨

This little one had a rough start to the weekend—he was hit by a bike last Friday 😢

Thankfully, some kind tourists scooped him up, took him for an X-ray (all clear—no breaks! 🙏), and brought him to PACS for a check-up.

He’s absolutely fine and very eager to leave—crying at the gates like he knows he doesn’t belong here! 🐶

he was found wearing a harness, so we believe he must have an owner.

🌊 Gloria’s Journey Continues—Another Day at the Sea!

💜 If you’ve been following Gloria’s story, you know how much she’s overcome. After a terrible accident left her paralyzed, walking felt like an impossible dream. But Gloria? She’s a fighter.

🎉 And yesterday, she proved it once again.

🏖️ For the second time, Gloria went to the sea for physiotherapy!

🐾She waded through the water, feeling the waves lift her up, strengthening those legs that are working harder every day. It’s just incredible to see her not only fighting but truly enjoying these moments.

🙏 This is what recovery looks like—determination, progress, and a whole lot of heart. And this won’t be her last swim!

🙏Every session builds her strength, brings her closer to walking confidently again, and reminds us just how amazing she is.

We were hoping for better news, but Max’s X-rays tell a different story.

🦴 The break is clear. You can see it right there. It’s bad. It’s painful. And it means Max has a long road ahead.

But here’s the thing—Max is still smiling. 🐻💙

🌴 If you’ve lived on Phangan or visited PACS, you know our big bear Max. He’s been here for years, a friendly face greeting every visitor. And now, he needs all of us to rally behind him.

🚨 Blacky Update—Still Fighting, Still Fragile 💔

🦴 Blacky is still skin and bones. He’s fighting, but his body is struggling. The diarrhea hasn’t stopped, and dehydration is making everything harder.

🎃 We’ve upped his meals, mixing in pumpkin and chicken broth to help his fragile system. But it’s not enough—we need to know what’s really going on.

💔 This delicate soul deserves a chance. We're running more tests to understand what's going on.

He's fighting, and so are we.

🌊 Gloria’s First Steps Toward Hope 💙

For months, Gloria has known nothing but struggle. After a devastating traffic accident left her paralyzed, she lost the simple joy of walking—something so many of us take for granted.

She’s been a patient at PACS, and through it all, she has remained the sweetest, most gentle girl. Even when her legs refused to work, her spirit never gave up.

But this past week? Something incredible happened.

✨ She’s improving. Dramatically. ✨

She’s been weight-bearing on her legs for the first time in months. She’s fighting. She’s trying. And yesterday was a day we will never forget—Gloria took another step toward healing.

🖤 Blacky Arrived Yesterday—And He’s Fighting for His Life 🖤

🐾 Yesterday, Blacky was carried through our doors. Emaciated. Weak. His body riddled with parasites, diarrhea leaving him dangerously dehydrated. His eyes barely had the strength to stay open.

🥹 We didn’t introduce him to you right away—because we weren’t sure he’d make it through the night.

But here’s the thing—he wants to fight. And so do we.

💜 Since yesterday, he’s been on IV fluids to keep him stable. He’s getting antibiotics, parasite control, probiotics—everything we can give him to help his body recover. Small, frequent meals to bring him back from the brink without overwhelming his fragile system.

🙏 And now? He’s holding on. It’s too soon to say he’s safe, but he’s still here. Still fighting.

🏥 This is what we face every single day. Stray dogs arriving at death’s door, and all we can do is throw everything we have at saving them. Some make it. Some don’t. But we have to try.

Traffic on Ko Phangan's roads has been pretty crazy lately, and it’s putting our furry friends at risk. The PACS team has seen a lot of cases recently where dogs and cats were hit by vehicles. Some made it through with treatment, some were left disabled, and sadly, some didn't survive.

We're asking all pet owners to keep a close eye on their pets and keep them safe at home. Let’s make sure they don't wander onto the streets. We want them to stay with us for a long time, happy and healthy.
