😲 Just when we thought we had seen it all, Humphrey came into our lives.

🗑️ Found in a rubbish bin, he was so weak he couldn’t even stand.

😭 His ribs were showing, and it was clear he wouldn't have survived another day without help.

🆘 We rushed him to PACS, ran tests, and discovered he’s battling tick fever and severe anemia.

🥓 Despite everything, Humphrey’s spirit is still shining. He’s been eating three meals a day and even enjoying extra treats.

🐾 This week, we’ve seen incredible progress. Humphrey is now able to stand on his own and walk around outside of the kennel.

💜 His loving, gentle nature is heartwarming—he knows we’re saving him, and it’s amazing to see how much he trusts us.

Humphrey was discovered at a local dump, in one of the most heartbreaking conditions we've ever seen.

Extremely malnourished and suffering from severe tick fever, he was brought to us in a critical state.

He's so skinny that his bones are visible, and he's incredibly weak, yet he clings to life with a quiet strength, continuing to eat despite his pain.

His Past is Unknown, But His Future is in Our Hands

We may never know the full story of how Humphrey came to be alone in such terrible conditions, whether he was lost or abandoned.

But right now, he needs us more than ever. He relies on the compassionate care at PACS for his recovery and hopes for a brighter future.

🐕 Meet Tung—a sweet 5-year-old pup with a heart of gold who’s had a rough ride. Literally.

🚘This brave girl was hit by a car, leaving her with a fractured tail (bone sticking out, yikes!) and a pretty nasty road rash.

But despite it all, Tung’s been an absolute star during her wound cleanings—what a trooper!

💔 Injuries: A fractured tail with the bone actually exposed! Plus, a large wound on her side, and some serious road rash.
💉 Treatment: Tail amputation, daily bandaging and wound care, pain relief and antibiotics.
💰 Cost: 6000 baht for two surgeries and ongoingcare.

Can you imagine the strength it takes to keep shining through the darkest days? ☀️

💕 Meet Emmy, our little ray of sunshine and a true miracle in the making.

🥹 Last week, Emmy was hit by a car, leaving her with a fractured spine and elbow, unable to walk.

🤞It's been touch and go, but this sweet, timid girl is showing us how strong she is! Despite everything, Emmy's spirit shines brightly.

🌞 Today, we brought her outside to soak up some sunshine on her pillow to get some fresh air and a look around. (She absolutely loved it!).

🙏 We are doing everything we can to give Emmy the best chance at a happy, healthy life. Right now, she's receiving pain relief and lots of love as we wait to see if her mobility returns.

Please keep Emmy in your thoughts.

🐾 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸-𝗜𝗻: 𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗦 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 🐾

Our team at PACS has been hard at work this past week, caring for some truly special patients who need your support on their road to recovery.

Here are a few stories from our clinic that highlight the hope and healing happening right now:

💜 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗦

🐱 𝗕𝘂𝗯𝗶: Bubi, our sweet 1-year-old cat, took a hard hit from a car but is now on the mend after surgery. With a bit more TLC, she’ll be back to her playful self. Surgery cost: 4,000 baht.

🐱 𝗡𝗶𝗻𝗷𝗶: This 3-4 month-old kitten lost a leg but not his spirit! Ninji’s adjusting to life on three legs like a pro. Surgery cost: 3,500 baht.

🐕 𝗘𝗺𝗺𝘆: Emmy, a 1-year-old dog, suffered a spine fracture and a fractured elbow after being hit by a car. We’re hopeful that with time and care, she’ll regain her mobility. It’s a tough road, but Emmy’s a fighter.

🐾 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗲𝘀
These brave patients are showing us what recovery looks like:

🍿 𝗣𝗼𝗽𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗻: Meet Popcorn, a 3-year-old dog who survived a nasty encounter with a car. He came in with a broken front leg, head trauma, and potential neurological issues. At the start of the week, he couldn’t walk, but guess what? Popcorn is now up and moving! His love for dinner is helping him get back on track. Truly a miracle in motion!

🐾 𝗥𝘂𝗳𝘂𝘀: This poor pup was found in terrible pain and completely bald due to severe mange. But now, his hair is starting to grow back, and with it, his playful spirit is returning. We’re dedicated to helping Rufus get back to his full, fluffy self.

🐕 𝗕𝘂𝗱𝗱𝘆: Buddy arrived at PACS terrified, underweight, and battling heartworm. But thanks to some love and care, he’s starting to come out of his shell. He’s even making friends with our permanent residents. Buddy’s journey is just beginning, and we’re so proud of his progress.

🦁 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻: Quentin has been a patient with us for a while after being involved in a road traffic accident. Last week, we had to make the difficult decision to amputate his front leg after it didn’t heal on its own. Quentin was in extreme pain at first, but by the second day, he was already adjusting to life on three legs. He’s now back to being his happy, playful self, showing us all how strong he truly is.

🎉 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴
These two superstars have completed their recovery and are back where they belong:

🐾𝗧𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗺𝗼𝗼𝗿: Cancer couldn’t keep Tangmoor down! He's fully recovered and back where he belongs.

🐾 𝗟𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘆: After a tough fight, Lilly’s back on her paws and thriving. We’ll miss her at the hospital, but we’re so glad she’s back out there, living her best life.

🐾 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗲: Jessie’s long journey of recovery has finally ended, and he’s happily returned home after beating the odds.

These animals are fighting against the odds, and we’re here to give them the best chance possible. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻’𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲.

Happy National Nonprofit Day! 🤝🌟

Today, we’re shining a spotlight on our incredible volunteer of the week, Rhia! 🌟

Hailing all the way from Birmingham, Rhia has truly become part of the PACS family during her time here. With her bubbly and outgoing personality, she’s brought so much charisma and energy to our team. 🐾

This is Rhia first time on Koh Phangan, but it certainly won’t be her last! She’s stayed on-site in our volunteer accommodation, fully immersing herself in the experience and making a huge impact on the lives of our furry friends. 🐶😻

Sadly, we’ll soon be saying goodbye as Rhia continues her adventures to Laos, but she’ll always have a special place in our hearts here in Phangan. 💜

Thank you, Rhia, for everything you’ve done—we’ll miss you!

🐾 We’ve got some paw-some news this week! Guess what?

💜 Colin has been adopted by our dedicated staff member, . It was love at first bark when they met, and they’ve been head over paws for each other ever since.

🛻 Colin came to PACS after being hit by a car just down the road from our clinic. Once he healed, we returned him to the street, but he kept coming back, sleeping at our gate, craving love and attention, and always wanting to come inside.

😉 Saskia couldn’t resist his charm, and it seems the feeling was mutual!

🏡 This week, Saskia made it official—she moved house and took Colin home with her. It’s a happy ending for this sweet boy!

🏍️ Now, they’re adventuring together exploring Koh Phangan's beautiful beaches and nature trails, so keep an eye out for them around the island.

Colin is bike-trained, living his best life like a king, and already making friends with other street dogs and humans. (Especially members of the dog mom club 😉)

Have you ever seen a kitten as cute as this before? 👀

Say hello to Skimpy, a sweet, little kitten who’s already used one of his nine lives.

This adorable furball was attacked by a dog and came to us with a broken leg. Our worst fears were confirmed after an x-ray today, which cost 1000 baht. 🥹

Sadly, Skimpy doesn’t have a family or an owner, so he will be staying with us at PACS until we find him a loving home.

🛣️His road to recovery has just begun, and he’s currently on rest bite.

Despite the injury, Skimpy is already showing signs of improvement and managed to put some pressure on his leg today! 🏆

Skimpy’s journey to full health will be a long one, and we’re not sure of the total costs yet, but we know it won’t be easy. We’re dedicated to giving him all the love and care he needs. 💜
